GMA member Tom DeBlass went in the octagon once again last Friday.

The leader of Ocean County BJJ, in New Jersey, didn’t need much time to score another win.

In 41 seconds, the Ricardo Almeida black belt got a submission to win his 2nd Ring of Combat belt.

DeBlass is now the light-heavyweight and the heavyweight champion.

On his Facebook account, DeBlass wrote about the accomplishment: “Thanks God, my family, my friends and supporters, and the best team in the World.”

GMA member Tom DeBlass fought three MMA fights in 2011.

The leader of Ocean County BJJ won all of them, one by submission, the other by TKO and the third by decision.

DeBlass is now 6-0 in his MMA record.

To top it off, DeBlass was elected the 3rd best light-heavyweight fighter by Bloody Elbow website.

On Facebook, Tom commented the award: ” This is certainly an honor. However, I will do my best to prove i deserve the spot they put me in, and even higher.”

He already has a fight scheduled.

On February 10, the Ring of Combat ligh-heavyweight champion will be facing Carlos Brooks.

GMA member Tom DeBlass came out victorious once again from an MMA bout.

The leader of Ocean County BJJ fought last Friday to defend his Ring of Combat light-heavyweight belt.

DeBlass defeated David Tkeshelashvili by unanimous decision after three rounds.

Tom thanked his friends and fans on Facebook:”Thank you to all who came out, the energy was amazing. It gets better everytime..I hope you all had a great time, means the world to me. More then you know.”

He also announced some changes for his next fight: “All I know is one thing about my next fight. We are 95% certain I will be dropping to 185lb to test the waters.”

GMA member Tom DeBlass has a MMA challenge tonight.

The leader of Ocean County BJJ will face Davit Tkeshelashvili in his first defense of the Ring of Combat light-heavyweight championship.

DeBlass, a Ricardo Almeida black belt, is 5-0 in MMA.

His last fight took place September 9th, when he KO’ed Mike Stewart.

On his Facebook page, Tom talked about tonight’s fight: ” My spirits are high and I’m feeling calm and ready. This is just what we do. This is what my teacher did, and my teacher’s teacher did. Generation through generation we have tested ourselves, and this is just another day. I will see everyone tonight after the fight.”

GMA member Tom DeBlass, leader of Ocean County BJJ, in New Jersey, is now a MMA belt holder.

Last September 9th, he defeated Mike Stewart by knock out at 3:07 of the first round.

With that win, DeBlass granted the Light-heavyweight Ring of Combat title.

The big win meant a lot to Tom and his fans and students, once Stewart did a lot of trash talk before the fight and Stewart’s supporters had a terrible behavior during and after the fight.

DeBlass wrote about his victory on Facebook: “Thanks God and all of you. His crowd had no respect, neither did he. OCBJJ I love you, Ricardo Almeida, Delilah, Mark Henry, Mom, Dad, Rosemary and Nesto. Everyone if I didn’t mention you thank you, it’s been a long stressful two days.”

The show started well with Brazilian Carlos Oliveira getting knocked out by Tom English on the first round, followed by a TKO by Chris Birchler on Shawn Obasi also on the first round. Those were just the preliminaries – it looked like the show was going to end early!

The main card started with Ed Gordon swallowing some fantastic knees thrown by Steve Edwards who, in round two, almost finished with a fantastic tight Kimura. Gordon really showed up he was polished tough. This fight got called at the corner by the doctor when Edwards was found incapable to continue.

The next fight followed suit with the doctor also calling the fight at 3:14 of the second round due to a gushing laceration inflicted on Brian Kelleher by Michael LaDuke. As a bonus, Kelleher also got a 45 day suspension to help him recover from his cuts. This is where blood started pouring, with the immediate fight just after having both fighters suspended due to facial lacerations – although the fight was won by an armbar submission by the Brazilian Eduardo Telles from GMA’s Victor Shaolin camp on the American Matt Ruskin also from GMA’s Renzo Gracie Academy.

Another submission quickly ensued when James Jenkins finalized Cody Castillo with a standing guillotine at 24 seconds of the first round. On the last fight of the Main card, Aung La N Sang TKOed Casey Gonzalez with some brutal ground and pound from a side mount that had rendered Gonzalez immobile.

Not to be left outdone, the Main card starts right off with some fantastic trading between Mike Stewart and Tom DeBlass. It was DeBlass that eventually got the best of it, with a strong left right on Stewart’s off button at the third minute of the first round. As DeBlass tried to celebrate his victory at the ring, a fight between both camps took root at the bleachers when some people purportely spilled beer on the females sitting at DeBlass’ camp. It was DeBlass himself then that asked for the microphone to appease the crowd “It’s over people, it’s all over now”. That seemed to quiet down the folks who then stayed under strict supervision by the athletic commission and no other fights were allowed to continue while they weren’t all sitting nicely on their comfy bleacher seats.

In the next fight we saw another round one KO when Al Iaquinta dropped a controversial kick on Gabriel Miglioli. Apparently Iaquinta’s big toe made it in to Miglioli’s left cornea but since there are no rules on being poked in the eye with a big toe the fight continue as Miglioli attempted to explain the fact to the ref who stopped the fight at 26 seconds of the first round when he could see that Miglioli was unable to defend himself.

The fight before last, was a superfight in all aspects – both as called by the promotion but also in what was delivered. After a lot of really good back and forth, veteran Chris Liguori scored a great right hand onto John Salgado’s chin that sent him packing to the canvas just when round three was coming to a close.

That is when we got to relax for a bit while waiting for an ambulance to be present for the last fight of the night. It was at 3 minutes and 24 seconds of the second round when Deividas Taurosevicus sank a rear naked on Ronnie Rogers who, up until this point, was being brutalized with well placed kicks and punches.

Nova União black belt Marcos Galvão, aka. Loro, did well at this Friday’s Ring of Combat event in New Jersey, United States.

It took Loro the whole three rounds to overcome Jacob Kirwan, the unanimous decision his second win in a row.

The result brought Galvão’s win tally to eight, with three losses and one draw.

In attendance at the event were Ricardo Cachorrão and Frankie Edgar, among other big names from the MMA world.

O faixa-preta Marcos Galvão, conhecido como Loro, foi bem no Ring of Combat, que aconteceu nesta sexta-feira, em Nova Jersey, nos Estados Unidos.

Contra Jacob kirwan, Loro precisou lutar os três rounds para vencer por decisão unânime e chegar ao seu segundo triunfo seguido.

Foi a oitava vitória de Galvão, que tem ainda 3 derrotas e 1 empate.
