From now on, each season will start on the first day of the World championship and end on the day before the beginning of the Worlds the next year.

With the change, athletes will not lose the points of the second half of the year (june-december), which made more difficult for black belts to qualify for the adult divsion at the Worlds (which requires 50pts or more).

Here are the three seasons that are counting points at this time (2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015).

As before, only the three most recent seasons will count points for the rankings.

So you can see how the former UFC light-middleweight champion is preparing to his rematch with ruling champion Chris Weidman.

Silva vs. Weidman is the main event of UFC 168, on December 28, 2013.

The IBJJF Pro League made its debut in December 2012 as the first of its kind to use ranking and offer prize money. With the IBJJF Long Beach Fall Open on the same day, black belts could qualify for the Pro League should they win their divisions. This year will be a little different.

The date is set for December 8 at the famed location, the Long Beach Walter Pyramid. So far on the website it shows the categories, that are combined to make only four total, and the four spots open in each. You can see the athletes who are confirmed and when you click on their pictures a complete profile of their ranking breakdown will show.

Some of the athletes include Caio Terra, Otavio Sousa, Andre Galvao, Ricardo Evangelista.

The UFC has updated its fighter’s rankings for all its weight divisions as well as the pound for pound overall ranking.

The two major changes came in the P4P listing.

For the first time, Anthony Pettis made the top ten, after snatching Ben Henderson’s lightweight belt with a first round armbar win at UFC 164.

He is now in 8th place.

Also as a result of last saturday’s fight, Bendo has dropped four spots and is now in 10th place on the overall ranking.

The second major change was in the top three positions.

After losing his middleweight belt to Chris Weidman at UFC 162, Anderson Silva also lost the third spot on the P4P ranking for fellow countryman Jose Aldo, who comes from a win over the Korean Zombie at UFC 163.

Also in the overal ranking, Renan Barão (7th) and Demetrius Johnson (6th) have climbed one position each.

In the division rankings, the most notable change was the switch between Lyoto Machida and Glover Teixeira in the light-heavyweight.

Teixeira is now contender no. 2 and Lyoto dropped to no. 3.

All the rankings are composed by votes of select fight journalists from all over the world.

Media members will vote for top fighters, currently active in the UFC, by weight class and pound-for-pound. A fighter can only appear in one weight division at a time. The champion and interim champions of each division are set in the first and second positions respectively and are not eligible for voting by media. However, champions can be voted on for the pound-for-pound rankings. Media voting is by invitation only and interested media members can apply at UFC.com/Rankings.

Since November 2007, FightMetric has furnished data that tracks the complete fight history of UFC athletes analyzing bouts across more than 125 statistical categories, encompassing all strikes, takedowns, submissions, and position changes.
