She is today considered the top female fighter in the world. However, the Strikeforce champion doesn’t have it easy. In making it to the top, Cris Cyborg had to take on an extreme workload, as can be seen in the exclusive video below, where she does her physical conditioning work with coach Rafael Alejarra.

And Cyborg is also features in GRACIEMAG # 170, now in bookstores.

“I do what I must to win. When I’m in a competition, I give it my best. I always imagine my opponent is training as hard as I am, with the same intensity. But I don’t care who I’m going to face. I’ll face anyone they put in front of me,” says the champion.

Ela é considerada hoje a principal lutadora do MMA mundial, campeã do Strikeforce. No entanto, Cris Cyborg não tem vida fácil. Para chegar ao estrelato, a curitibana teve de ralar duro, como mostra o vídeo exclusivo logo abaixo, um trabalho de preparação física com o professor Rafael Alejarra.

E Cyborg também está nas páginas da revista GRACIEMAG #170, em todas as bancas.

“Faço o que tiver que fazer para vencer. Quando estou numa competição, dou o meu melhor. Sempre penso que a minha adversária treinou tanto quanto eu, com a mesma intensidade. Mas não ligo para quem vou enfrentar. Enfrento qualquer uma que botarem na minha frente”, diz a campeã.

Antonio Peinado venceu em 2010 eventos como o Brasileiro de Equipes e o Brasileiro Sem kimono, além de ter subido no pódio do Europeu, Pan e Mundial. E a preparação já começou para a próxima temporada, a começar pelo Europeu de Jiu-Jitsu.

Em 2011, Peinado deve voltar a categoria superpesado e, para estar nas melhores condições físicas, o faixa-preta vai contar com o trabalho do preparador Rafael Alejarra.

“Nos conhecemos melhor na Bahia, quando ajudei nos treinamentos do Demian Maia, e ficamos muito amigos. Ele vai me ajudar para estar na melhor forma nas competições em 2011”, conta Peinado ao GRACIEMAG.com.

O lutador explica como vai ser o trabalho.

“Fizemos um projeto bem legal. Quando estiver em São Paulo, ele me manda o trabalho por e-mail e nos falamos para esclarecer qualquer dúvida. Mas em fevereiro ou março já devo estar nos EUA para o Pan e depois o Mundial. Lá, trabalhamos juntos na MMA Conditioning. Toda vez que estiver nos EUA para algum evento, trabalho com ele lá”, diz.

In 2010 Antonio Peinado captured gold at the Brazilian Team and Brazilian No-Gi Nationals, as well as placing at the European Open, Pan, and Worlds. Now he’s already hard at it for next season, to kick off with the European Open.

For 2011 Peinado is eying a return to the superheavyweight division and, to be in tip-top physical form, the black belt is relying on the efforts of physical conditioning coach Rafael Alejarra.

“We got to know each other better in Bahia, when I was there helping Demian Maia train, and we became good friends. He’s going to help me get in better shape for 2011,” Peinado told GRACIEMAG.com.

The fighter explains what their work together will be like.

“We put together a really cool project. When I’m in São Paulo, he’ll send me what I should do by email and we’ll communicate regarding any questions I may have. But in February or March I should be in the U.S. For the Pan and then the Worlds. There we’ll work together on MMA conditioning. I’ll work with him whenever I’m in the States,” he says.
