If you haven’t registered yet, make sure you go to www.prosportsbjj.com and sign up for the 2013 Abu Dhabi Pro Cup Trials in San Diego, CA on January 26-27. The San Diego event has been the hub for many ticket holders who have won their place in the 2013 Abu Dhabi World Professional Cup in Abu Dhabi.

The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, January 22 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard time, divisions from kids to seniors all welcome! The location is at the large gymnasium at Miramar College 10440 Black Mountain Road, San Diego, CA 92126.

As a five star tournament, the opportunity to gain access for a free ticket is the largest. Winners of the adult male brown/black belt weight divisions receive a package and all other ranks can win in one or two open class divisions.

The San Diego chapter of the WPJJC Trials tends to be one of the thorniest in the USA, and the upcoming one will be no different.

Three favorites have already been confirmed for the January 26-27 tournament at Miramar College: heavyweight Roberto “Tussa” Alencar, middleweight Clark Gracie, and lightweight Marcos Torregrosa.

“I’m glad I’ll be able to participate at the San Diego Trials,” Clark Gracie told GRACIEMAG.com. “Firstly, because it’s a high-level championship, and secondly, because it’s right in my backyard. I wouldn’t miss it for anything. I’m feeling 100% and am going in there to win,” he added.

It’s worth keeping in mind that athletes of any nationality are free to compete. However, they must have an American work visa to secure an all-expenses-paid trip to Abu Dhabi.

A Seletiva de San Diego do WPJJC costuma ser das mais aguerridas nos EUA, e a próxima não deve ser diferente.

Na peneira, marcada para os dias 26 e 27 de janeiro de 2013 no ginásio do Miramar College, três favoritos já confirmaram presença: o pesado Roberto “Tussa” Alencar, o médio Clark Gracie e o leve Marcos Torregrosa.

“Estou feliz de poder participar do San Diego Trials”, Clark Gracie comenta, em papo com o GRACIEMAG.com. “Primeiro, porque é um campeonato de alto nível que costuma ter uma organização fantástica. Em segundo, porque o campeonato é no quintal da minha casa! Não posso perder por nada. Estou me sentindo 100% e vou para ganhar”, aposta Clark.

Vale lembrar que atletas de qualquer nacionalidade podem competir. Porém, somente quem possuir o visto de trabalho americano garante a passagem aérea para Abu Dhabi.
