At the recent Grapplers Quest Florida State Championship 2012, Carlson Gracie Miami finished well at all the ranking.

Porfirio expressed his joy on Facebook: “Congradulations to all our competitiors who went out there and gave their hearts to fight and represent the Carlson Gracie family! We achieved this with only a few of our students, imagine if the whole squad went out there!”

GMA member Michael Porfirio will be offering a IBJJF rules clinic at his academy.

The leader of Carlson Gracie Miami will be welcoming IBJJF referee Marcelo Ribeiro.

The class is scheduled October 21st and the cost is US$ 40.

GMA member Michel Porfirio, the leader of Carlson Gracie Miami, will be hosting a very special event this Saturday.

The black belt will teach a self-defense seminar with the proceeds being donated to the World Vision Humanitarian Group.

The WVHG is a non-governamental organization devoted to fighting hunger  in Somalia.

The Miami Open is revving up, the big names are signing up, and the deadline for registration is this coming Saturday. While fans await news of who will be the new king of Florida – last year Luiz “Big Mac” beat Alexandro Ceconi in the absolute final, with Mike Fowler and Thiago Gaia rounding out the podium –, the IBJJF prepares to pay tribute.

The organizers’ idea is to have Rilion Gracie hand out diplomas to teachers who have helped the sport develop in Florida.

Among those to be honored are Daniel Nycz, Pablo Popovitch, Rodrigo Cavaca, Renato Tavares, Michel Porfirio, Marcos “Parrumpinha” da Matta, Mauricio Villardi, Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu, and Marcelo Araújo.

Enquanto os fãs aguardam para saber quem será o novo rei da Flórida – no ano passado, Luiz Big Mac venceu Alexandro Ceconi na final do absoluto, com Mike Fowler e Thiago Gaia completando o pódio – , a IBJJF prepara homenagens.
