But in between, the athletes battled it out with one another all while representing their team. There were many teams large and small present at the tournament but the trophies were only given to the top three.

Because this was a larger tournament, the team points were distributed among the adults, the masters and the females.

The adult male division team trophies went to these teams:

1 – Alliance Marcelo Garcia – 74
2 – Gracie Barra – 49
3 – Team Lloyd Irvin – 43

What brought in the most points were both black belt and brown belt stand-outs from each team.

For the females, Luiza Monteiro and Ana Lowry represented Cicero Costha and the PSLPB team all by themselves. Because they won both weight and absolute at both brown and black, it was enough to earn the first place. The second place was earned by the help of Maia Matalon who topped the podium of the purple belt open class division.

O terceiro dia de competições do Pan de Jiu-Jitsu teve como ponto alto a categoria feminino faixa-roxa. O campeonato organizado pela IBJJF está rolando em Irvine, na Califórnia, até domingo.

A maior glória dessa sexta-feira, 14 de março, foi para Maia Matalon (50\50), que conquistou duas medalhas de ouro ao vencer o peso pesado e o absoluto. Na final do aberto, Maia passou a guarda de Sarah Black (Nova União) para conquistar a vitória. A faixa-roxa fez quatro lutas para chegar ao ouro absoluto.

The third day of competitions at the 2014 Pan Jiu-Jitsu championship had as a high point the adult female open class division.

The highest glory of this Friday of Jiu-Jitsu in Irvine went to 50/50 Academy’s Maia Matalon.

The heavyweight reined in the female purple belt open class.

She had four fights to get to the gold medal.

The final was against Nova União’s Sarah Black and Maia got the win by coming back in the scoreboard to win 3-2.

Maia won double gold this Friday after also conquering her weight division.

In the other divisions of the adult female purple belt, the results were:
