The fighter’s father, Randy Couture, is one of the greatest heroes of the sport in the United States, a member of the UFC hall of fame.

With a five-win, one-loss amateur record, Ryan will be making his professional debut at Strikeforce on August 13, in Phoenix, Arizona, against Lucas Stark.

At 27 years of age, Ryan was a high school and college wrestler. All five of his MMA wins came by way of submission. The fighter now trains at his father’s gym in Las Vegas.

Besides Ryan, there’s another fighter carrying the Couture name in MMA: Randy’s ex-wife, Kim Couture.

Filho de um dos maiores astros do MMA, Ryan tem que carregar o peso do sobrenome Couture. O pai do lutador, Randy Couture, é um dos maiores ídolos da modalidade nos Estados Unidos, membro do hall da fama do UFC.

Com o cartel amador de cinco vitórias, uma derrota e um empate, Ryan estréia como profissional no Strikeforce, organização em que assinou contrato. O primeiro desafio vai ser no dia 13 de agosto, em Phoenix, Arizona, contra Lucas Stark.

Com 27 anos de idade, Ryan lutou wrestling no colégio e faculdade. Os cinco triunfos no MMA amador foram por finalização. Hoje o lutador treina na academia do pai, em Las Vegas.

Além de Ryan, outro que carrega o sobrenome Couture no MMA é a ex-esposa do “The Natural”, Kim Couture.
