Para o evento principal do Legacy FC 15, o único desafio para Robert Drysdale foi mesmo bater o peso, os 93kg da categoria meio-pesado. Depois de aparecer na pesagem com 95kg, ao menos na luta o campeão do ADCC 2007 não precisou suar tanto.

Drysdale botou o oponente Chris Reed facilmente para baixo, com um pontual single-leg, mirou o estrangulamento norte-sul mas foi impedido por Chris, que agarrou-se como pôde na bermuda do faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu. Robert então fez bela transição para a montada, de onde aplicou a chave de braço, a 1min15s de luta.

Foi a quinta vitória consecutiva do professor radicado em Las Vegas – são cinco finalizações no primeiro assalto, em cinco embates. Foi a terceira chave de braço para a coleção de Drysdale.

The only challenge Robert Drysdale faced in headlining the Legacy FC 15 card this Friday was making the 93 kg (205 lb) weight limit for the light heavyweight division. After first showing up around five pounds overweight at weigh-ins, at least the ADCC 2007 champion didn’t have to sweat much in the actual fight.

Drysdale easily took his opponent, Chris Reed, down with a well-timed single-leg, targeted the north-south choke but was kept at bay by Chris grabbing his shorts. Robert thus transitioned to mount, where he sunk an armbar 1:15 minutes into the fight.

The win marks Drysdale’s fifth submission win of his five-fight professional career, as well as the third armbar in his MMA collection.
