There’s no dilly-dallying from Ronys Torres, who was promised a UFC return if he reaches a certain number of back-to-back wins. He went straight to the chase against Gilmar Manaus, putting on the pressure from the get go. He quickly took the bout to the ground and mounted, where he rained down strikes until the referee stepped in. The Nova União fighter has won all of his last four fights by submission or knockout. Ronys’s last fight before beating Manaus came just six days earlier at the IFC event in Recife.

“I’m keeping a frenetic pace. What I really want is to work; I’m an MMA employee. I can only thank everyone, thanks a lot, let’s keep on working.”

Another who put in a fine performance and rediscovered his winning ways was Jamil Silveira, who beat Augusto Pedra by first-round technical knockout. With the win, Silveira got the monkey of a four-fight losing streak off his back.

In attendance were former UFC champion Maurício Shogun and Jiu-Jitsu black belt Leonardo Vieira.

Aconteceu nesta quinta-feira, em Manaus, o Hero’s the Jungle. Entre os destaques da noite, a vitória do ex-UFC Ronys Torres.

Ronys, que teve a promessa do Ultimate de voltar à organização se emplacasse uma série de vitórias, não deu sopa e caiu para dentro do local Gilmar Manaus. O lutador botou pressão desde o início. Logo derrubou para depois montar e bater até o juiz interromper o duelo. Nas últimas quatro lutas, o atleta da Nova União venceu todas por finalização ou nocaute no primeiro round. Antes de Manaus, Ronys vencera no IFC, seis dias antes.

“O ritmo está frenético, quero trabalhar mesmo, sou funcionário do MMA. Só tenho a agradecer a todos, muito obrigado, e a gente vai continuar o trabalho.”

Outro que fez bonito e reencontrou o caminho da vitória foi Jamil Silveira, que venceu Augusto Pedra por nocaute técnico no primeiro assalto. O cearense tirou a urucubaca, e deixou para trás a má fase, em que acumulava quatro derrotas seguidas.

O evento contou com a presença do ex-campeão do UFC Mauricio Shogun e do faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu Leonardo Vieira.
