At Gracie Barra Rohnert Park (GBRP), family is the foundation of our school.

GMA member school Gracie Barra Rohnert Park celebrated its 4th anniversary last November 22nd.

Black belt Aparecido Bill gathered his team to mark the date.

The evenig was a happy one, with some exciting promotions and speeches, good music and food, and wrapped it all up with an open mat.

GMA member Aparecido Bill taught a special class last weekend.

He presented his students at Gracie Barra Rohnert Park, California, with some great techniques for self-defense against armed agressors.

Bill is also known for his Jiu-Jitsu techniques’ app.

GMA member Aparecido Bill travelled to Florida recently to teach a seminar.

The leader of Gracie Barra Rohnert Park was welcomed by fellow GMA Roberto Cuartero, leader of GB South Jacksonville.

Cuartero is a former student of Bill’s.

After the class, Bill promoted Roberto to the black belt rank.

GMA member Aparecido Bill has just launched a new Jiu-Jitsu App.

The leader of Gracie Barra Rohnert Park is teaching takedowns.

This is his third App, before he taught chokes and open guards.

The App Store page explains the App being released now: “In part one of this two part series, you will learn some of the essential throws and takedowns. We have also included a few throws from a position of self-defense. Part one focuses on the basics. Any white or blue belt should learn these essential techniques and then move on to part two for more advanced throws and takedowns.”

The App includes drills, sweeps and submissions for all levels of practitioner, from the beginner to the advanced.

The Video is shot in High Definition from a variety of angles to help the viewer easily practice and learn the movements. The App works with all versions of the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Three years ago this day, Aparecido Bill embarked on the greatest adventure of his life.

He opened Gracie Barra Rohnert Park, in Nothern California.

Three years on, the academy is a huge success, loaded with students and a part of daily life in its community.

Bill himself commented on the date on Facebook: “Today Gracie Barra Rohnert Park completes three years of pure success, growing every day since the day I had the opportunity to open it with my Gracie Barra Network. As a Black Belt 3rd degree, I wish all best to all the students for  supporting our school. Go GBRP Team. Oss!!”

To celebrate the anniversary, lots of activities are scheduled for today, such as group picture, Gi raffle, cake, food and drink, and, of course, open mat and some promotions.

The team did great in Long Beach and the rewards came sooner than expected.

Bill, Jaramillo

Professor Aparecido Bill promoted coach Elliott Hastings to purple belt after a valiant performance at the BJJ World Championship.  He made it 4 rounds, losing to the competitor who took home gold.

Coach Enrique Jaramillo just earned his brown belt after years of hard training.  Students Sambath Yon and Sophorn Ouk received their purple belts this week as well.

He won within two minutes into the first round by rear-naked choke.

Michael has been a loyal and dedicated student of Aparecido Bill for several years.

His hard work and commitment were definitely evident in his fight.

The first big punch his opponent threw, Michael dropped his level and shot in for a double leg takedown.

Once the fight was on the ground, Michael took his opponent’s back almost instantly, put his hooks in, and worked for the rear-naked choke.

It was a clean, dominant display of the power of jiu jistu in a skilled practitioner.

Fabiana, Bill and the GBRP team

Black belt Aparecido Bill promoted his assistant instructor Fabiana Ferreira to the first degree black belt.

The new graduation is very well deserved, once Fabiana plays a key role at Gracie Barra Rohnert Park.

She is in charge of the female program.
