The Ultimate Fighting Championship teeters but doesn’t fall. While losing marquee fights like José Aldo-Frankie Edgar and Quinton Jackson-Glover Teixeira was a hard knock, the biggest MMA event in the world was quick to suck it up and promptly deal with the damage to the card. This Wednesday three new match-ups for the third installment of the October 13 UFC Rio show were announced.

Middleweight champion Anderson Silva will return to the light heavyweight fold to take on TUF 1 finalist Stephan Bonnar. This will be Silva’s third appearance in the weight class above his, having previously fought and beaten by first-round knockout James Irvin and Forrest Griffin. Now Bonnar is riding a three-fight win streak. Check out the hard-nosed American, once trained by the legendary Carlson Gracie, fighting Lyoto Machida in the inaugural Jungle Fight event, back in 2003 in the city of Manaus.

Another bout confirmed for the card has Rodrigo Minotauro taking on Dave Herman. The Brazilian has not fought since an ill-fated encounter with Frank Mir in December 2012, while the seasoned Dave Herman is coming off back-to-back losses, to Stefan Struve and Roy Nelson, but holds 21 career wins.

Now Glover Teixeira, initially scheduled to fight Quinton Jackson, now has Fabio Maldonado ahead of him. Glover made his UFC debut submitting Kyle Kingsbury at UFC 146, while Maldonado holds one win and two setbacks since joining the big league.

Promotional kingpin Dana White was quick to patch up the gaps in the Brazil show, and thanked the fighters for their support. “Much respect for Anderson, Minotauro, Bonnar, etc. Thanks for doing UFC 153. Brazil will be fun! Rio, here we come!” posted White on Twitter.

O Ultimate balança mais não cai. Se caíram os combates de José Aldo contra Frankie Edgar e Quinton Jackson vs Glover Teixeira, o maior evento de MMA do mundo tratou logo de remendar os buracos no card. Nessa quarta-feira foram anunciados três novas lutas para a terceira edição do UFC Rio, que rola no dia 13 de outubro, na HSBC Arena.

O campeão dos médios Anderson Silva volta a lutar na categoria dos meio-pesados e vai encarar Stephan Bonnar, finalista do TUF 1. Esta será a terceira luta de Anderson na divisão de cima, onde venceu James Irvin e Forrest Griffin, ambos por nocaute no primeiro round. Já Bonnar vem embalado com três vitórias consecutivas. Outro duelo confirmado coloca frente a frente Rodrigo Minotauro e Dave Herman. O brasileiro não luta desde a derrota para Frank Mir, em dezembro de 2011 e o experiente Herman vem de dois revesés seguidos, para Stefan Struve e Roy Nelson, mas tem 21 vitórias na carreira.

Já Glover Teixeira, que enfrentaria Rampage Jackson, agora terá Fabio Maldonado, pela frente. Glover estreou no UFC finalizando Kyle Kingsbury no UFC 146, e Maldonado está com um triunfo e dois infortúnios no octágono.

O manda-chuva do Ultimate Dana White trabalhou rápido para tapar as lacunas da etapa carioca, e agradeceu os lutadores pelo apoio. “Muito respeito por Anderson, Minotauro, Bonnar, etc. Obrigada por entrarem no UFC 153. Brasil vai ser divertido! Rio, aí vamos nós!”, postou o cartola no twitter.

September 11 was no easy day for fans, promoters or athletes involved with UFC Rio alike. Besides José Aldo, another of the stars of the night got injured and was pulled from the card. The black belt Mario Sukata, who trained with Quinton “Rampage”Jackson in Recife, Brazil, told GRACIEMAG.com what happened:

“He was training well and felt pain in his elbow on Monday. Yesterday he felt it a lot more, and he couldn’t move it at all. The area was inflamed and hurt a lot,” said the Paraiba native, who also spoke of the American’s disappointment.

“He was in greater shape than ever and really upset, but he made it clear that if Glover will wait for him, he really wants this fight. He’s already flown back to the United States and has a doctor’s appointment scheduled there. Depending on how he checks out, he may recover quickly. He just kept saying he really wants to fight Glover,” he added.

O 11 de setembro não foi fácil para os fãs, promotores e atletas do UFC Rio, e além de José Aldo, outro astro da noite também se machucou e pulou fora do card. O faixa-preta Mario Sukata, que treinava com Quinton Rampage no Recife, contou o que houve ao GRACIEMAG.com:

“Ele estava treinando bem e sentiu a dor no cotovelo na segunda-feira. Ontem sentiu de novo, mais forte, e não conseguiu fazer movimento nenhum. O local ficou inchado e doendo muito”, disse o paraibano, que também falou sobre a decepção do americano.

“Ele nunca esteve tão bem e ficou chateado, mas deixou bem claro que se o Glover esperar ele quer muito fazer essa luta. Ele já embarcou para os Estados Unidos e tem consulta marcada com seu médico lá. Dependendo da avaliação, a recuperação pode ser rápida. Ele só repetia que quer muito lutar com o Glover”, completou.

Além do cancelamento de Rampage vs Glover Teixeira e José Aldo vs Frankie Edgar, o confere entre Vitor Belfort e Alan Belcher, então penúltima luta da noite, já havia sido retirado. O americano se machucou e Vitor encara Jon Jones no UFC 152, no dia 22 de setembro.

Having taken to Twitter to plead for a spot at UFC Rio, Jiu-Jitsu black belt Cristiano Marcello saw his request fulfilled in the form of a matchup against Sweden’s Reza Madadi at the HSBC Arena this October 13.

The Rio de Janeiro native was a participant on season 15 of the TUF reality show and ended up getting knocked out by Sam Sicilia on what was his octagon debut. Now, he’s seeking his first win in the UFC.

To do so, the former Chute Boxe rep is training balls to the wall in Curitiba, facing a daily rote he has dubbed “the room of terror”.

“I’m training with my physical conditioning coach, who’s turning out to be a great trainer. It truly is a room of terror. Truth is, we’ve been doing some precious work on improving my explosiveness and agility. I’m stoked. Functional training together with weights has been great,” said the Jiu-Jitsu professor.

“I’ve been practicing everything I can—lots of Thai boxing with Bruno Carvalho [an M-1 fighter], wrestling with Marcelo Zulu and grappling with my black belt Ocimar Costa,” added the brown belt bronze medalist at the 1999 and 2000 World Championships.

Always remembered for the triangle he used to subdue an enraged Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennet behind the scenes at Pride FC, Cristiano remains confident in his Jiu-Jitsu, which is useful in any danger situation he may find himself in.

“The truth is that in the dressing room at Pride I believed in my Jiu-Jitsu, and you have to believe you can do it. When you find yourself in an extreme situation, what works is what you trained; it’s your subconscious at work. My whole life I trained refined Jiu-Jitsu, and I managed to impose it in most of my fights; especially during that moment of danger,” he recalled, before explaining how he plans not to get caught off guard at the UFC event in Rio.

“You have to understand that in MMA the fight starts on the feet. Of course I plan to impose my game and take it to where I’m most confident, show my Jiu-Jitsu. Of course that’s what I want, but I’ll have to go through all kinds of turbulence to get there. I just hope I can put him through some turbulence first. He’s got sharp wrestling, doesn’t come from a striking background, but I know he’s going to want to keep it standing. Well I’m not going to avoid that. In the end, though, I want to impose my Jiu-Jitsu and welcome him with my triangle or armbar,” he revealed.

Undefeated in six years, Glover Teixeira will be looking to extend that streak even further next month, when he takes on Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at the October 13 UFC Rio 3 show; but he already has some pretty lofty plans for the medium term.

In an interview by Deb Blyth printed in last month’s GRACIEMAG, the Luigi Mondelli black belt addressed his goals, the ADCC and an obstacle called Quinton Jackson.

GRACIEMAG.com: How is training for your fight with Quinton “Rampage”Jackson going?

GLOVER TEIXEIRA: John Hackleman has been my main MMA coach since 2005. Before him I was straight Jiu-Jitsu. John taught me my striking. I owe everything to him. I have his style. He trains Chuck Liddell. It’s great to train with Chuck. He’s going to help me more closer to my fight against Rampage. He helps me with my sparring. Chuck knows my style more than anybody. He shows me wrestling, striking… He’s very experienced in MMA, so anything he says I believe him. He follows the sport. He’s not stuck back in the old school MMA game. He’s part of the new generation. He comes in with new and different things all the time—things I’ve never seen before. It’s great to have him here. He knows A LOT.

How do you think you match up against Rampage?

Great! We both like to strike, and we both like to control the octagon. It’s a great fight for the fans. People were asking me five years ago to fight him. It’s gonna be a great fight because of our styles. I’m very excited about this fight!

Would you say that you’ve become more of a striker than a grappler now?

No, I consider myself a mixed martial artist. I’ve never trained Jiu-Jitsu for straight competition. I do have my black belt, but when I started Jiu-Jitsu I already had MMA on my mind. I started training because of Royce Gracie. I watched him and wanted to do Jiu-Jitsu. Then, right after, I started wrestling and boxing. But I love No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu. I love ADCC rules and doing the Abu Dhabis. It’s like the UFC of Jiu-Jitsu. You have the best grapplers in the world there, and it’s a great place to test yourself. I would love to do it again.

Was your UFC debut, against Kyle Kingsbury, everything you expected?

When I was in the locker room, I was so happy. I said to my trainers, “This is it guys! This is what we train for. This is the day we’ve been waiting for… the big pay off!” I have fun fighting, no matter what. Yes, it’s the UFC. It’s a big show, with a big crowd. It’s a little more motivational with the crowd getting crazy, but I’m like an old school fighter; I just go and fight. I get in the cage, and if there are two people watching me, I don’t care. I’m excited for the fight, and I’m gonna get the knock out or the submission. I’m only focused on the fight 100%. Fighting in the UFC was different from what I was used to, though. It was so organized. But it doesn’t matter where or when I fight. I just want to fight.

Do you normally have to cut much weight for your fights?

Not too much, but that’s the worst part of any fight. I love to eat. I only had to cut 17 lbs last time. I usually walk around at about 230 lbs. I get down to about 220 lbs about two to three weeks before a fight and then cut the rest the week of. I know exactly the best way to cut weight for me. I’ve been doing this for a long time.

Are you strict about following a game plan or are you more of an intuitive, organic, go-with-the-flow kind of fighter?

You train a little for each fighter, but you’re not going to change your style too much for each guy. It’s the character you possess that’s going to dictate how you fight. So, you set a game plan, but you have to have a different plan for each fighter. You also have to be able to see opportunities as they arise, and that’s why you train so much and spar with so many different guys… good guys—so you learn to see opportunity. Then it’s easy to fill in the gaps. You start believing and you keep going. Experience has helped me develop confidence in my fighting.

What are your strengths compared to Rampage’s

My speed is going to control the pace. I’ll keep pushing him. He’s a tough guy, a great striker with great power. But I’m confident I’m gonna beat him.

If you win, where do you put yourself in line for a title shot?

It’s another step to see what’s going to happen with my manager and Dana White and Joe Silva. Whatever they give me I’ll be happy. The main thing is being the champ. And [Jon Jones] has the title right now, so yeah, I think about it. And I think I match up well against him.

Depois de pedir via Twitter uma chance no UFC Rio, o faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu Cristiano Marcello foi atendido e vai encarar o sueco Reza Madadi na HSBC Arena, 13 de outubro.

O carioca participou do reality show “TUF 15” e acabou nocauteado por Sam Sicilia, naquela que foi sua estreia no octagon. Agora, ele busca a primeira vitória no UFC.

Para isso, o ex-chuteboxer está treinando a todo vapor em Curitiba, enfrentando diariamente um covil apelidado de “quarto do terror”.

“Estou treinando com meu preparador físico, que está se revelando um grande treinador. Com certeza isso é um quarto do terror, na verdade a gente está fazendo um trabalho valioso para aumentar minha explosão e agilidade. Estou amarradão, o treino funcional junto com o ferro está ótimo”, disse o professor.

“Tenho treinado tudo o que posso – bastante muay thai com o Bruno Carvalho (lutador do M-1); wrestling com o Marcelo Zulu e a parte de chão com meu faixa-preta Ocimar Costa”, completou ele, que foi medalha de bronze nos Mundiais de Jiu-Jitsu de 1999 e 2000, na faixa-marrom.

Sempre lembrado pelo triângulo aplicado num furioso Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennet nos bastidores do Pride, Cristiano segue confiante em seu Jiu-Jitsu, útil em qualquer situação de perigo.

“A verdade que ali no vestiário do Pride eu acreditei no meu Jiu-Jitsu, e você tem de acreditar que é capaz. Quando você está numa situação extrema, o que vai funcionar é o seu treinamento, é o subconsciente que age ali na hora. Minha vida inteira treinei um Jiu-Jitsu refinado, e consegui impor isso na maioria das minhas lutas, e em especial naquele momento de perigo”, lembrou o casca-grossa, que não quer se afobar no UFC no Rio.

“A galera tem de entender que no MMA a luta começa em pé. Lógico que pretendo impor meu jogo e ir para a parte onde sou mais confiante e lá mostrar meu Jiu-Jitsu. Logicamente é isso que desejo, mas vou ter de passar por aquela turbulência antes. Só espero que eu faça a turbulência nele antes. Ele é um cara afiado no wrestling, não é oriundo da trocação, mas já sei que ele vai querer ficar na parte em pé. Bom, eu não vou fugir disso. No fim das contas, no entanto, quero imprimir meu Jiu-Jitsu e dar as boas-vindas com meu triângulo ou meu armlock”, entregou.

Invicto há seis anos, o monstro mineiro Glover Teixeira enfrenta Quinton “Rampage” Jackson no mês que vem, no UFC Rio 3 de 13 de outubro, mas já tem planos ousados no médio prazo.

Em entrevista dada a Deb Blyth, publicada na Revista NOCAUTE mês passado, o faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu graduado por Luigi Mondelli falou um pouco sobre metas, o ADCC e um obstáculo chamado Quinton Jackson.

GRACIEMAG.com: Como estão sendo os treinos para a luta com Quinton “Rampage” Jackson?

GLOVER TEIXEIRA. John Hackleman, da equipe californiana The Pit, vem sendo um dos meus técnicos desde 2005. Devo tudo a ele, inclusive meu estilo de luta. Ele treina com Chuck Liddell e isso é ótimo. Espero contar com ele ainda mais à medida que a luta com Rampage se aproximar. Liddell conhece o meu estilo melhor do que ninguém, me dá dicas de wrestling, trocação. É um cara muito experiente no MMA e acredito em tudo o que ele diz. Acho que o Liddell é um cara que acompanha o que acontece no esporte, não é alguém que ficou no passado, e sim faz parte desta nova geração, apresentando novidades o tempo todo, coisas que eu nunca sequer vi. É ótimo tê-lo na equipe.

O que acha do Rampage como oponente? Ele tem dito que pode sair do UFC, de repente se aposentar.

Para mim ele é só mais um cara que cruzou meu caminho. Só quero lutar e vencer. Se for a hora de ele parar, que seja. Mas não estou pensando nisso. Acho que será uma grande luta, pois nós dois gostamos de trocar em pé, de ter controle do octagon. Há mais de cinco anos já ouço as pessoas especulando sobre esse confronto. Estou animado.

Eu me considero um cara do MMA. Nunca treinei Jiu-Jitsu pensando em competir somente no Jiu-Jitsu. Iniciei na arte suave já pensando no MMA. Comecei inspirado no Royce Gracie, percebi que era aquilo que eu queria. Pouco depois comecei também no wrestling e no boxe. Mas gosto mesmo é de Jiu-Jitsu sem kimono. Adoro o ADCC e as regras da competição. É como se fosse o UFC do Jiu-Jitsu. Você tem os melhores grapplers do mundo lá. É uma ótima oportunidade para se testar.

A estreia no UFC 146, em maio, com direito à finalização no R1 contra Kyle Kingsbury, foi  como você esperava?

Eu estava no vestiário, todo feliz, e virei para meus treinadores: “É isso aí, galera, foi para isso que treinamos tanto. Chegou o dia tão esperado. É a hora da grande recompensa.” Sempre me divirto muito lutando, não importa onde. Mas era o UFC! Rola uma motivação a mais, com os torcedores indo à loucura. Mas a verdade é que sou um lutador à moda antiga. Eu vou lá e luto. Quando entro no ringue, mesmo que haja apenas duas pessoas me vendo lutar, para mim não importa. Fico 100% focado na luta.

Você normalmente sofre para bater o peso antes dos eventos?

Não muito. Mas de fato esta é a pior parte antes de qualquer luta. Amo comer. Da última vez tive que perder pouco mais de oito quilos. Normalmente eu peso lá pelos 104kg. Desço para 99,5kg umas duas ou três semanas antes da luta e deixo para perder o resto na semana do evento. Sei exatamente a melhor forma de perder peso. Já venho fazendo isso há um bom tempo.

Você costuma ser bem fiel à estratégia traçada antes da luta ou é do tipo que vai mais pela intuição?

Você sempre treina um pouco de acordo com o adversário. Mas ao mesmo tempo não dá para mudar muito seu estilo. É a sua personalidade que vai ditar como você luta. Então normalmente você estabelece um plano de ação, mas na hora da luta pode escolher entre diversos caminhos a seguir. É preciso avaliar as oportunidades que se apresentam. Por isso treinamos tanto e com tantos caras diferentes. Você aprende a enxergar o caminho. Então acaba ficando fácil de preencher as lacunas. A experiência também ajuda a desenvolver confiança na própria capacidade.

E quais são suas maiores vantagens em relação a Rampage?

Minha velocidade vai ditar o ritmo. Vou forçá-lo o tempo todo. É um cara duro, um grande striker com muita pressão. Mas estou confiante que vou derrotá-lo.

Se você vencer, em que posição em relação ao cinturão você acha estaria?

É mais um passo para vermos o que vai acontecer. Depende do meu manager, do Dana White e do Joe Silva (matchmaker do UFC). O que eles decidirem para mim ficarei feliz. Mas o objetivo principal é ser campeão. E é Jon Jones quem tem o cinturão no momento. Acho que uma luta entre Jon Jones e eu seria muito bem casada.

O UFC Rio 3 prometia ser honesto, mas um novo “convidado”, faixa-marrom de Jiu-Jitsu, eleva a edição 153 ao posto de superevento. José Aldo vai encarar agora o ex-campeão dos leves Frankie Edgar, que substitui Erick Koch, lesionado nos treinamentos.

André Pederneiras recebeu a notícia com naturalidade. “Recebi uma ligação do Sean Shelby, matchmaker do UFC, por volta de meia-noite falando que o Erick Koch tinha se machucado e que o substituto seria o Frankie Edgar. Recebi com surpresa, até pelo horário, mas como existe tempo hábil para se mudar a estratégia, mesmo ele tendo um jogo completamente diferente do Koch, acredito que teremos sucesso em mais uma luta”, explicou Dedé, ao sportv.com

“Agora vou sentar para repensar o planejamento sobre os atletas que importei, que são canhotos e eram da altura do adversário. O que terei que fazer é contratar alguns atletas de wrestling com a mesma estatura do Edgar. Mais que nunca a vinda do Gray Maynard vai ser de extrema importância. Acho que a velocidade que Edgar tinha na categoria de cima será a mesma agora na categoria pena”, completou o treinador.

Essa será a primeira luta de Edgar pela categoria dos penas. O americano resolveu descer de peso após a segunda derrota para Ben Henderson.

O UFC Rio 3 rola no dia 13 de outubro, na HSBC Arena, no Rio de Janeiro.

UFC Rio 3 promised to be an honest show, but a new, Jiu-Jitsu brown belt, call-up has elevated UFC 153 to super-event status. José Aldo will take on former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, who stepped in for an injured Erick Koch.

André Pederneiras, the featherweight champion’s coach, took the news in stride. “I got a call from Sean Shelby, the UFC matchmaker, at around midnight. He said Erick Koch had gotten injured and that Frankie Edgar would take his place. I was surprised, if just because of the late hour, but seeing as there’s still enough time to change the strategy, even with his game being completely different from Koch’s, I feel we’ll be successful once again,” Dedé is quoted as saying on sportv.com.

“Now I’m going to sit down and rethink my plans regarding the athletes I imported—they’re southpaws and the old opponent’s height. What I’ll have to do is hire some wrestlers who’re as tall as Edgar is. Gray Maynard coming will be more important than ever. I feel Edgar will be just as fast at featherweight as he was at his old weight,” adds the coach.

This will be Edgar’s first fight at featherweight, having decided to drop a weight class following his second loss to Ben Henderson.

UFC Rio 3 is set to go down October 13 at the HSBC in Rio de Janeiro.

Jiu-Jitsu black belt and trainer Mario Sukata (12w, 5l) has some interesting ideas about MMA tactics. For example: “Everyone has a good strategy in the UFC, until taking the first punch to the face.”

The onetime UFC fighter will host former Pride FC star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson for a training camp in Recife, the capital of the Brazilian state of Pernambuco.

Quinton is already in the city, and Sukata explained what he’ll be doing to get ready to take on Glover Teixeira—already favored to win by Brazilian fans and journalists—at the October 13 UFC Rio event.

“The training camp will be held at my academy, and Quinton is bringing a big team down. His Thai boxing, wrestling, boxing, Jiu-Jitsu and conditioning coaches and others will be coming down to do all his preparations here. After that he’ll head to Rio de Janeiro to fight,” recounted the black belt, who has coached the American fighter in Jiu-Jitsu in the past.

“We’ll be doing the usual Jiu-Jitsu for MMA work, nothing special. He’s already been doing his specific training, and just because I’m here doesn’t mean the bulk of our training will be Jiu-Jitsu. I’ve known Quinton since 2009, but I’ve been in England since 2009. As the fight will be in Brazil, I felt it was a good idea that he train here. It’ll be good for him to get in tune with the country, with the climate, and he has plenty of fans all over Brazil. There’s never been as high level a fighter as Rampage training in Recife, so it’ll also be good in that it will publicize MMA in the region,” added the Jiu-Jitsu professor, who went on to explain how they’ll be looking to overcome Glover.

“Truth is, we aren’t putting together a strategy. Rampage’s fights speak for themselves, don’t they? Quinton’s a guy who doesn’t shy away from a fight. He likes to fight, to throw down, and if it goes to the ground he knows how to handle himself. He knows his way around on the ground, and he brings it on,” Sukata guaranteed. “On the game plan, I think something Cro Cop used to say sums it up tidily: “Everyone has a game plan until they take the first punch to the face.” So, he likes putting on a show for the public, and there’s only one strategy: to win,” he said in closing.

Besides Rampage and Glover Teixeira, UFC Rio 3 will also feature José Aldo’s featherweight title defense against Erik Koch, Vitor Belfort squaring off with Alan Belcher, and TUF Brazil winner Rony Jason taking on Sam Sicilia. Tickets are already on sale.

Treinador e faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu, Mario Sukata (12v, 5d) tem ideias interessantes sobre táticas para MMA. Por exemplo: “Todo mundo tem uma boa estratégia no UFC, até levar o primeiro soco na cara”.

O ex-lutador do UFC será o anfitrião do supercamp que o astro Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, ex-Pride, ex-Esquadrão Classe A, armou em Pernambuco, na capital Recife.

Quinton já está na cidade, e Sukata comentou como serão os treinos para enfrentar, no dia 13 de outubro no UFC Rio, a pedreira Glover Teixeira – desde já favorito entre os fãs e jornalistas brasileiros.

“O camp será na minha academia, e Quinton está trazendo uma grande equipe. Estão chegando seus treinadores de muay thai, wrestling, boxe, Jiu-Jitsu e preparador fisico, entre outros, e a preparação será toda aqui. Depois ele segue direto para o Rio de Janeiro para lutar”, contou o faixa-preta, que já ensinou Jiu-Jitsu para o lutador americano.

“O trabalho dele será normal, é o Jiu-Jitsu voltado para o MMA, com nada especial. Ele já vem treinando a parte específica, e por eu estar aqui não quer dizer que o Jiu-Jitsu será a base do treino. Eu conheço o Quinton desde 2009, mas hoje estou na Inglaterra. Como a luta é no Brasil, achei que seria bom ele treinar por aqui mesmo. É bom para ele se harmonizar com o país, com o clima, e ele tem muitos fãs espalhados pelo Brasil. No Recife nunca houve um cara do nível do Rampage fazendo o treinamento, então também acaba sendo uma boa para divulgar o MMA na região”, completou o professor, que explicou o caminho para superar Glover.

“Não montamos nenhuma estratégia na verdade. As lutas do Rampage acho que já falam por si só, né. Quinton é um cara que não corre da luta, gosta de lutar, da trocação, e se for para o chão, ele sabe se virar muito bem. Ele tem os meios de lutar no chão, e vai para o combate”, garantiu. “Sobre tática, gosto muito de uma frase que o Cro Cop dizia: “Todo mundo tem uma estratégia até levar o primeiro soco na cara”. Então, ele gosta de dar show para o público e a estratégia é apenas uma: vencer”, concluiu.

Além de Rampage contra Glover Teixeira, o UFC Rio 3 traz José Aldo versus Erik Koch pelo cinturão dos penas, Vitor Belfort contra Alan Belcher e o campeão do TUF Brasil Rony Jason contra Sam Sicilia. Os ingressos já estão à venda.
