Marcado para 21 a 25 de janeiro, o Europeu de Jiu-Jitsu começa a tomar forma, e os nomes confirmados até o momento deixam os fãs ansiosos para a disputa na faixa-preta adulto em Lisboa, capital de Portugal.

No disputado peso médio, o equatoriano Francisco Iturralde (Alliance) quer reinar entre Caio Almeida (Ryan Gracie), Thomas Oyarzun (Alliance) e Alexandre Vieira. O título da categoria é hoje de Claudio Calasans (Atos), que ainda não confirmou presença oficialmente no torneio.

Maximiliano Carvalho (GB) aparece na listagem do meio-pesado, ao lado de Howon Jung (JF Jiu-Jitsu), Okan Bulut (Icon JJ) e Jarkko Jouni (Hilti BJJ).

O peso pesado conta com o jovem Erberth Santos, da Lloyd Irvin. O ano foi glorioso para Erberth, que conquistou peso e absoluto no Pan e Mundial da IBJJF ainda de faixa-marrom. Será seu primeiro torneio de faixa-preta.

Atual campeão do Europeu, o astro Lucio “Lagarto” Rodrigues é o único confirmado no superpesado até o momento.

Gabi Garcia (Alliance), Gretchen Dawn (GB), Venla Orvokki (Hilti), Shanti Abelha (Checkmat), e Anna Louise Mayne (CFS BJJ) são as mulheres inscritas na elite do feminino.

JT Torres was on fire this weekend in Carson.

He won two gold medals in the Gi and one gold medal no-gi.

The middleweight final on Saturday was against Alliance’s Francisco Iturralde and JT managed to finish the fight with one of the most beautiful moves of the 2014 American Nationals.

The 2014 IBJJF Vegas Summer Open is underway at the Sport Center of Las Vegas right off the strip. The one-day event on Aug. 9 is one of the hottest in the summer.

The black belt adults took to the mat early in the day with multiple matches for most of the divisions. The open division will begin at 3 p.m. PST.

The Abu Dhabi WPJJC East Coast Trial has closed its registration for the Oct. 20 event. This is the last American trial for the 2014 Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship and will be in Flushing, NY at Queens College. Competitors in select divisions will earn travel packages to compete at the main event in the United Arab Emirates, a Fuji gi and cash prizes.

From white to black, competitors have jumped on the chance to win prizes along with their medal. Some well-known brown and black belts who will be present are:

O torneio da IBJJF será novamente no ginásio Nat Holman, no New York’s City College, e a concorrência está acirrada.

NYC hosts WPJJ five stars trials

The World Pro has another set of trials this Sunday, March 11th, in New York.

Directed by GMA member Luiz Sergio Correa, the trials will award 13 full travel packages for the main event, next April, in Abu Dhabi.

The prizes have attracted some important Jiu-Jitsu names, such as Roberto Tussa Alencar, Roberto Cyborg Abreu, Renan Borges,Lucas Lepri, Lucas Leite, Abmar Barbosa,DeAlonzio Jackson, Rafael Rosendo, Francisco Iturralde, Bruno Malfacine, Samir Chantre.
