Once again Rio de Janeiro’s AABB Lagoa gymnasium will host an MMA event, with the Tatá Duarte- and Phillip Lima-promoted WOCS 21 coming up September 28 featuring a card boasting 11 professional and three amateur fights.

“WOCS is the event that put on the best fights of the year, as well as launched athletes previously unknown to the greater public. That shows how the scouting Tatá and I have been doing, watching footage of up-and-comers and studying their backgrounds, is paying off. I feel that that is the reason WOCS is putting on such great fights, and the 21st installment of the event will be no different,” stated Phillip.

Among the headliners on the upcoming card, former Brazilian National Jiu-Jitsu champion Alexandre Pulga of team Nova Geração will be making his first appearance as a featherweight, taking on PRVT’s Alexandre Alves. Now Gracie Barra black belt Gustavo Ximu, a footlock expert ever since his days as a luta livre fighter, will square off with PRVT representative Ricardo Hulk.

O ginásio da AABB Lagoa, no Rio de Janeiro, será mais uma vez palco do WOCS 21. O torneio organizado por Tatá Duarte e Phillip Lima traz no cardápio 11 lutas de MMA profissional e três de MMA amador.

“O WOCS é o evento que tem realizado as melhores lutas este ano, como também revela atletas desconhecidos do grande público. Isso mostra que o trabalho de pesquisa feito por mim e pelo Tatá, que consiste em assistir a horas de vídeos das promessas do esporte, e analisar suas origens, está surtindo efeito. Acho que por isso o WOCS vem conseguindo apresentar grandes combates, e a edição de número 21 não será diferente”, afirmou Phillip.

Entre os destaques, o campeão brasileiro de Jiu-Jitsu Alexandre Pulga (Nova Geração) encara Alexandre Alves (PRVT), em sua nova categoria, o peso-pena. Já o faixa-preta da Gracie Barra Gustavo Ximu (GBCT), rei das chaves de pé desde os tempos de luta-livre, terá Ricardo Hulk (PRVT) pela frente.
