The 2013 ADCC absolute champion will be leading instruction for both gi and no-gi from 12 – 3 p.m.

The number one ranked male black belt in the world has planned a seminar at the school of ADCC absolute champion Roberto Cyborg Abreu. The two have matched up against each other many times over the years but have remained friends and the respect is always evident as we watch them on the competition mats.

On Saturday, Feb 15, GMA Fight Sports in Miami, Florida will host Buchecha for a seminar. The cost is $80 for Fight Sports students and $100 for visitors but everyone is welcome from any academy.

GMA Fight Sports celebrated their end of the year party and a  two-day graduation ceremony on Nov. 22-23 in Miami, FL. Roberto Cyborg Abreu recently won the absolute of the prestigious ADCC in Beijing, China last month and dedicated much of his success to his students. The growth of his team and students is the product of his hard work not just in his own training but his investment in theirs.

There were twenty-eight students who received promotions from yellow belt to even black belt. On one day there was a seminar with Cyborg’s good friend Andre Monteiro with Brazilian BBQ and live music. The turn-out was great: “It’s amazing to see how much the team is growing. We had the biggest graduation I’ve seen with over 200 people on the mat! This weekend I gave out my 35th black belt,” says Cyborg.

At Fight Sports Miami, GMA member Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu keeps a strong academy. The world champion black belt competes at the highest level and earns gold medals at the most prestigious events but true recognition for his efforts came on Saturday, August 24, when he received his third degree from Master Francisco Toco Albuquerque.

Cyborg received his black belt in 2004 after five years of training and has since taken the black belt divisions by storm. His next endeavor is the 2013 ADCC on October 19-20 in Beijing, China.

His response to the promotion:

“I’m honored to have received today from the hands of my Master Francisco Toco Albuquerque my 3rd degree black belt! It really represents the world to me. It’s like a flash passing through my eyes all of the years of dedication and love for Jiu-Jitsu! I’ve really built a beautiful story through all of this years and there are lots more to come! I would like to thank my family, students, friends and fans for making this journey with me. God gave me a gift, live from my love! Certain things in life are priceless.”
