No novo teaser, temos logo no início um chute frontal de Alexander Gustafsson em Vitor Belfort. Sim os atletas, hoje, atuam em categorias diferentes, mas no jogo o combate aconteceu e o brasileiro não se deu muito bem.

Na metade, mais uma vez Lyoto se viu em apuros no Jiu-Jitsu de Weidman, sendo pego numa guilhotina. Se ele bateu ou escapou? O vídeo,infelizmente, não mostra.

Mas o lance que mais chama a atenção é a remontagem do futuro combate entre Jon Jones e Glover Teixeira, no próximo dia 26, no UFC 172, valendo o cinturão peso meio-pesado do UFC. Nas imagens, exibidas em 1min05s do vídeo, Glover entra com um chute baixo de direita e é surpreendido por uma cotovelada na cabeça que lhe tira de ação na luta.

The UFC will continue its video game series through North American video game publisher EA Sports, and the game will be released in spring 2014, UFC and EA officials announced at a press conference in Los Angeles today, Tuesday.

UFC President Dana White, light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and lightweight champ Benson Henderson, as well as EA Sports executive Andrew Wilson all made an appearance when announcing the release, along with a trailer showing footage from the game.

“The early stuff I’ve seen from the game is amazing,” White said during the press conference.

The game will include new features, including one called “MMAi,” which allows fighters to organically alter the strategy throughout the fight, according to Wilson. The EA Sports executive added that his team also created a new technology that let’s players “see and feel how bodies respond to every strike and every submission.”

White praised the game weeks ago heading into UFC 160, praising the game much of the same way he did today, describing it as one that has the same worldwide reach as that of EA Sports’ FIFA game, one of the more globally popular games from the publisher.

“They put this title up there with FIFA because it’s a global brand,” White said during a media scrum in Las Vegas. “This is a game that reaches all around the world.”

White added during the same media scrum that “EA Sports UFC” will have the athlete on the American packaging selected by fans.

“There’s going to be a fan vote on who gets the cover in the United States,” White said.

With an exclusive multi-year, multi-product partnership, the UFC and EA Sports plan on releasing a video game about the MMA promotion in the next 12 months, Xbox officials announced on Tuesday.

EA Sports Executive Vice President Andrew Wilson said during the Xbox Reveal broadcast that the new game will be one of four sports games released on the new Xbox gaming system called Xbox One.

The game will be the fourth installment in the UFC video game series, which was preceded by UFC Undisputed 2009, UFC Undisputed 2010 and UFC Undisputed 3.

The Xbox Reveal broadcast included video of the soon-to-be-released game, as well as gameplay footage featuring UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson and Anthony Pettis, which offered a look into the game’s realism (watch video below).

The game, like all EA Sports games on the Xbox One, will be powered by the EA Sports Ignite engine, which will offer revolutionary movement and a gaming experience beyond what players have seen in previous releases, according to Wilson.

The UFC EA Sports game is also expected to be out on the Sony PlayStation.

The game is licensed by the Strikeforce promotion and will feature such big-names as Rickson Gracie, Fedor Emelianenko, Randy Couture, Dan Henderson, Ronaldo Jacaré, Jake Shields, Fabrício Werdum, Renato Babalu, Murilo Ninja, Roger Gracie, Gesias Cavalcante, Kron Gracie, and Vitor Shaolin among others.

The company released a video on the internet with images of the game, which is meant to compete with UFC Undisputed 2010 on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

A novidade agora é sobre a gravação do comercial do game, todo produzido no Rio de Janeiro e com vários atletas tupiniquins, entre eles Paulo Filho. 

“O comercial conta a história de um lutador que viaja ao Brasil para aprender Jiu-Jitsu, ao Japão para aprender judô e à Tailândia para treinar muay thai. Depois disso, ele participa de um grande evento, que é o Strikeforce”, conta Phillip Lima ao GRACIEMAG.com. 

Faixa-preta de muay thai e organizador de eventos como o WOCS, Phillip foi escolhido para ajudar na criação das sequências de luta, para ficarem reais, e ajudar na produção. 

“O personagem principal do comercial é o lutador Antonio Roberto, da NG Combat. É ele o cara que viaja pelo mundo com o sonho de aprender lutas. Seus sparrings nos treinamentos serão lutadores conhecidos como Claudiere Freitas (muay thai) e Henrique Chocolate (submission). O adversário no grande desafio pelo Strikeforce é feito por Paulão Filho. Além disso, participam muitos outros atletas brasileiros e pessoas envolvidas com a luta como o Rodrigo Canu e o Julio Muniz, que faz a preparação do Paulão”, diz. 

O jogo da EA Sports, que deve se chamar “Global Ring”, vai ser lançado no dia 19 de outubro para concorrer diretamente com o “UFC Undisputed 2010”. Entretanto, o comercial não deve passar no Brasil, onde foi gravado. Aliás, Phillip explica os motivos de o Rio ter sido escolhido para quase toda a gravação. 

“Eles sabiam que aqui encontrariam especialistas em Jiu-Jitsu, muay thai e judô, além de ser fácil recriar ambientes que se assemelhem a qualquer parte do mundo. Isso não seria tão fácil em outros países.”

“The commercial tells the story of a fighter who travels to Brazil to learn Jiu-Jitsu, to Japan to learn judo and to Thailand to train muay thai. After that, he participates in a major event, which is Strikeforce,” says Phillip Lima to GRACIEMAG.com.

Muay thai black belt and promoter of events like WOCS Phillip was chosen to help in the creation of the fight sequences, to make them seem real, and to help in production.

“The main character in the commercial is Antonio Roberto, a fighter on NG Combat team. He’s the guy who travels the world with the dream of learning martial arts. His sparring and training partners are well-known fighters like Claudieri Freitas (muay thai) and Henrique Chocolate (submission wrestling). His opponent in the big Strikeforce challenge is Paulão Filho. Beyond that, there are a lot of other Brazilian fighters and people involved with fighting involved, like Rodrigo Canu and Julio Muniz, who train Paulão,” he says.

The EA Sports game, which will likely be called “Global Ring”, will be launched on October 19 to compete directly with “UFC Undisputed 2010”. However, the commercial will not likely air in Brazil where it was recorded. Phillip explains the reasons Rio was chosen as the backdrop for the recording.

“They knew how here they could find Jiu-Jitsu, muay thai and judo specialists, and that it would be easy to recreate an environment similar to any other part of the world. That’s not easy to do in other countries.”

As previously reported here on GRACIEMAG.com, the EA Sports MMA video game will be launched October 19 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. Beasts from the Gracie family like Roger and Rickson were already confirmed for the game, which has the tough task of disputing market share with UFC Undisputed 2010.

The news is that Kron, who has never fought MMA, is on it. One interesting possibility is pitting father against son, but of course, only for videogame aficionados. The black belt’s avatar can be seen in the image below, as reported on the Sensei Sportv blog.

Now Daniel Gracie, who hasn’t stepped in the MMA ring since November 2006, has a date for his return. Though he didn’t confirm the event, the black belt told MMAFighting.com he’ll return to action November 20.

“I want to fight in the best shape of my life, and that’s what I’m working on now. It’s time to return and get excited,” he remarked.
