O Superior Cage Combat 3 aconteceu nessa sexta-feira em Las Vegas, precisamente no Orleans Cassino e o ex-UFC e WEC John Alessio (Team Couture) foi o grande vencedor.

Na luta principal do evento, Alessio foi melhor que o paraibano e ex-Pride Luiz Junior Buscapé nas três parciais, e venceu por decisão unânime. Com o resultado Alessio chegou à sua 33ª vitória na carreira.

Em luta pelo título, o brasileiro Jay Silva e Bristol Marunde se digladiaram no cercado durante cinco rounds. A luta foi boa, apesar do público esboçar algumas vaias. No fim, Marunde ficou com o cinturão do evento, por decisão unânime dos jurados.

Outro destaque foi Phil Dace, que foi melhor que o ex-UFC e ex-ADCC Dave Terrel.

Treinador de Jiu-Jitsu na academia de Wanderlei Silva, Sydnei Silva não foi páreo para Cameron Diffley. O técnico de uma das edições do TUF e ex-treinador de de Jiu-Jitsu de Forrest Griffin não quis saber e catou o braço do brasileiro, finalizando com um justo armlock aos quatro minutos do primeiro giro.

Já Junior Barata usou seu arsenal de quedas para cima de Alonso Martinez nas três etapas e venceu por decisão unânime. O cearense que representa a Finney’s Hit Squad acrescentou o oitavo triunfo ao seu cartel.

At Superior Cage Combat 3 this Friday at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas, former UFC and WEC fighter John Alessio (Team Couture) notched his second win in the promotion and begins to return to his winning ways.

Headlining the event, Alessio got the better of former Pride FC fighter Luiz Junior“Buscapé” throughout their three-round affair, winning by unanimous decision. With the result, Alessio brings his win tally to 33.

In the title fight, Brazil’s Jay Silva and Bristol Marunde went the full five rounds in what was a lively fight, despite some boos from the crowd when the fight came to a standstill in the fourth round. After the scorecards had been read, Marunde kept his title via unanimous decision.

Another of the night’s standouts, Phil Dace overcame former UFC and ADCC fighter Dave Terrel.

Head Jiu-Jitsu coach at Wanderlei Silva’s Las Vegas academy, Sydnei Silva wasn’t up to snuff against Cameron Diffley. Diffley, a coach on a season of TUF and former Jiu-Jitsu coach to Forrest Griffin, out-grappled the Brazilian, winning by armbar just four minutes into the opening round.

Now Junior “Barata” used his takedown prowess to annul Alonso Martinez for three rounds and snatch the unanimous decision. The Brazilian representing Finney’s Hit Squad brought his winning record to eight.

Two-time Jiu-Jitsu world champion André Galvão was released from his Strikeforce contract, the fighter’s MMA career may take a flying leap, according to information announced on MMAJunkie.com.

The black belt is among the candidates to enter the mix in the 13th season of the The Ultimate Fighter reality show. The winners of each season earn a UFC contract.
