Bellator set up its cage in Rome, Italy to host its 203th numbered event last Saturday. The main bout pitted BJJ black-belt Patrício Pitbull against Daniel Weichel in a rematch for the featherweight belt.

The fight was level throughout the five matches, with real winning chances for both fighters for the entirety of the 25 minutes. In the opinion of two out of the three judges, Patrício did better, meaning he gets to keep his belt.

As he was receiving that belt back after the fight, the champion had his hands raised by no fewer than two MMA legends — Fedor Emelianenko and Royce Gracie.

O Bellator armou seu cage em Roma, na Itália, para realizar seu 203° evento numerado no último sábado, dia 14 de julho. Na luta principal, o casca-grossa Patrício Pitbull reencontrou Daniel Weichel para a revanche valendo o cinturão dos pesos-penas, em transmissão exclusiva dos canais Fox Sports.

A luta foi parelha do primeiro ao quinto round, com chances reais de vitória para ambos os atletas ao longo dos 25 minutos de disputa. Na visão de dois dos três jurados, Patrício foi melhor no duelo e conseguiu defender com sucesso o seu título.

Ao receber de volta o cinturão, o peso-pena brasileiro teve como acompanhantes no cage Fedor Emelianenko e Royce Gracie, e ambos levantaram sua mão após a vitória.

On the coming 21st of June, Pedro Rizzo takes on Fedor Emelianenko under the M-1 Global banner in Saint Petersburg, enemy territory. The 37-year-old from Rio de Janeiro who previously challenged for the UFC heavyweight belt on two occasions, holds a record of 19 wins in 28 career fights.

Now the Russian, who recovered from three-straight losses by knocking out Satoshi Ishii and outpointing Jeff Monson, opted to undergo a spell of intense training in Holland alongside the likes of Peter Teijsse and Ernesto Hoost, among others. Could getting his standup training at the source be the antidote for Pedro Rizzo’s Thai boxing?
