In the wake of her gold medal-winning campaign at the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship beating Kyra Gracie in the final, black belt Michelle Nicolini took no rest and headed straight into her MMA debut. The fight went down at Peru’s Inka Fight event, and the CheckMat rep put her slick ground game to work in swiftly tapping out local fighter Cristina Mejia.

Depois de garantir o ouro no Mundial de Jiu-Jitsu com vitória sobre Kyra Gracie na decisão, a faixa-preta Michelle Nicolini não descansou e logo fez a sua estreia no MMA. A luta aconteceu no evento Inka Fight, no Peru, e a representante da CheckMat tratou de aplicar o seu justo jogo no chão para finalizar rapidamente a peruana Cristina Mejia.

After winning the featherweight division at the 2011 Worlds in California, Michelle Nicolini made her MMA debut this Thursday at Inka FC in Peru.

Keeping to her roots, the CheckMat black belt paid no heed to the partisan crowd and put away local fighter Cristina Mejia with an armbar. The fight was in the under-60kg division.

Now Michelle will turn her attention to No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu training for this year’s ADCC, to take place September in England.

Depois de vencer no peso pena do Mundial 2011, na Califórnia, Michelle Nicolini fez a sua estreia no MMA nesta quinta-feira, no Inka FC, evento realizado no Peru.

Sem abandonar as raízes, a faixa-preta da CheckMat não temeu a torcida e finalizou com um armlock a lutadora local Cristina Mejia. O combate foi na categoria até 60kg.

Agora Michelle volta a focar nos treinos de jiu-Jitsu sem kimono para a edição do ADCC deste ano, que acontece na Inglaterra, em setembro.
