The third Copa Ontario BJJ tourney is scheduled for next August 6, at the St Josephs College, in Toronto.

The tournament is open for all ages, graduations and both male and female.

Black belt Jorge Britto added yet another MMA win to his MMA career on the 27^th of last month in Edmonton, Canada, needing only 37 seconds to successfully defend his under-73kg (160 lbs) CCF title belt.

His victim at the fifth installment of Coliseum Fighting Championship was Josh Kyrejto, and Britto spoke of what it was like to fight under Pride rules with Wanderlei Silva in the audience, and leaked some of the surprises in store for the Ontario Jiu-Jitsu Cup, organized by the Gracie Tijuca black belt and Toronto BJJ teacher, our GMA.

What was it like to fight under Pride rules? Did you change anything in your preparation work?
For me not much changed, just some details like the duration of the first round being 10 minutes. But I have Mauricio Veio,  Andre Dida’s brother, with me and they have that Chute Boxe style that’s tailor made for Pride, with stomps, soccer kicks and everything (laughs).

Everyone could see the fight on GRACIEMAG.com, in the video section. But for you, what was the pivotal moment in the fight?
I think it was when I felt my right hook land, I saw that he felt the blow.

You told GRACIEMAG.com earlier that Wanderlei Silva would stop by, because his clothing line was sponsoring the event. Was he there?
Dude, just him being there was already special, the guy is the biggest inspiration!

With ten wins, you already have a pretty solid record, with a win over the UFC’s Rafael dos Anjos and all. Are you thinking of fighting in a big event?
I’ve been working a long time and believe that everything happens when God wills it. I just want to make sure that if the opportunity appears, I’ll be ready. I think in my life I never went more than 15 days without training. Whenever we intend to do something we have to give our best. That’s my mentality, so I’ll try to get as far as possible. Now on March 20 I already have another MMA fight at W-1 in Montreal. Training carries on strong!

How are your plans for the Ontario BJJ World Cup, on April 24 and 25, going?
They are going very well. I still have a few surprises to announce, but I’ll tell you beforehand that this year we will have a no-gi class and it will be a two-day event, evidence of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s growth in Toronto. Sunday we will have an inter-academy challenge, similar to the Brazilian Team Championship, and it will be exciting for sure, with athletes from Nova União, BTT Canada, Royler Gracie and Alliance.

O faixa-preta Jorge Britto venceu mais uma no MMA em Edmonton, Canadá, em apenas 37 segundos, mantendo o cinturão até 73kg do CCF no último dia 27.

A vítima na quinta edição do Colosseo Championship Fighting foi Josh Kyrejto, e Britto comentou a expectativa de lutar nas regras do Pride, com Wanderlei Silva na plateia, e adiantou algumas surpresas para a Copa Ontario de Jiu-Jitsu, evento organizado pelo faixa-preta da Gracie Tijuca e professor da Toronto BJJ, nossa GMA.

Como foi lutar nas regras do Pride? Mudou algo na preparação?
Para mim não mudou muito, apenas alguns detalhes como o tempo do primeiro round que é de 10 minutos. Mas eu tenho aqui o Mauricio Veio, irmão do André Dida, e eles têm aquele estilo Chute Boxe especializado em Pride, com pisão, tiro de meta e tudo mais (risos).

Todos puderam ver a luta no GRACIEMAG.com, na seção de vídeos. Mas para você, qual foi o momento crucial na luta?
Acho que foi quando senti que o cruzado de direita entrou, vi que ele sentiu o golpe.

Você comentava com o GRACIEMAG.com antes que Wanderlei Silva iria aparecer por lá, pois sua marca de roupas estava apoiando o evento. Ele estava por lá?
Pô, acho que sim. Cara, só de ele estar lá já é especial, o cara é a maior inspiração!

Com dez vitórias, você já está com um card bem sólido, tendo vitória sobre Rafael dos Anjos do UFC e tudo mais. Já está pensando em lutar num grande evento?
Já venho trabalhando um bom tempo e acredito que tudo vem no tempo que Deus quiser. Só quero ter certeza de que se a oportunidade aparecer, estarei preparado. Acho que na minha vida nunca fiquei mais de 15 dias sem treinar, sempre que nos propomos a fazer algo temos que dar o nosso melhor. Essa é minha mentalidade, então vou tentar chegar o mais longe possivel. Agora dia 20 de março já tenho outra luta de MMA no W-1 em Montreal, o treino continua forte!

Como estão os planos para a Copa Ontario de BJJ, nos dias 24 e 25 de abril?
Estão indo muito bem, ainda tenho umas surpresas para anunciar, mas de antemão te falo que este ano vamos ter a categoria no-gi  e serão dois dias de evento, prova do crescimento do Jiu-Jitsu em Toronto. Domingo teremos um desafio entre academias, nos moldes do Brasileiro de Equipes, e certamente será eletrizante, com atletas da Nova União, BTT Canadá, Royler Gracie e Alliance.
