Roger Gracie is no longer in the UFC.

The multiple-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion fulfilled his contract with the organization, and he has not been offered an extension, according to a report from Globo.com.

Numerous messages to Gracie’s representatives, asking for comment on the matter were not answered at the time of this publication.

Gracie’s expired contract was initially signed when he was fighting in the Strikeforce promotion. As reported by GRACIEMAG.com, Gracie was one of several fighters whose contracts transitioned to the UFC once Zuffa, the company that owned both MMA leagues, shut down Strikeforce operations.

According to the report, Gracie fulfilled his contract obligations with the loss to Tim Kennedy at UFC 162. The organization opted not to offer Gracie a new contract, and the fighter is now a free agent able to sign with another organization.

Oh, Chael Sonnen. You continue have a way with words.

The UFC middleweight (or light heavyweight … we’re just not sure anymore) said during a Q&A at the recent UFC Fan Expo that his contract with the organization has expired.

We know what you’re saying: “Yay! No more Chael!” But don’t get ahead of yourself, readers. Sonnen has a list of demands for a new UFC contract. And here they are (takes deep breath).

1. Jello Biafra replaces Bruce Buffer as ring announcer.
2. Every fight he’s in must be a No. 1 contender fight or a title match.
3. If he loses, he gets an immediate rematch until he wins.
4. No media can look him in the eye, or they will be removed from the room.
5. He requires a headset legalized through the commission so he can call his own fights.
6. No longer will he walk to the ring. He needs to be carried.
7. Keys to Dana White’s least favorite Ferrari (he added that he wasn’t asking too much with that one).
8. He can Skype or FaceTime his fights if he feels like flying.
9. And last but not least (nor negotiable), Dana White must tell GSP to stop being such a d*ck. Sonnen will return his truck when he’s done with it.

The list of demands drew a laugh from the crowd in Las Vegas, but Sonnen was adamant that he was serious. Sure, Chael. Keep saying that and maybe someone, someday, will believe you.

Jiu-Jitsu standout Robert Drysdale has signed a deal with the UFC and will make his promotional debut at UFC 163 on Aug. 3, according to a Tuesday report by the Las Vegas Review Journal.

The fighter later confirmed to GRACIEMAG.com that he signed a four-fight deal and will face Ednaldo Oliveira at light heavyweight (205 pounds) for his debut fight.

“It’s something I’m truly excited about — being able to fight against the best in the world,” Drysdale said on Tuesday afternoon. “It was a bit of a surprise … Someone got injured, so they needed a replacement and I jumped at the opportunity.”

Drysdale is undefeated in his MMA career, sporting a 6-0 record, most recently finishing D.J. Linderman by rear-naked choke at Legacy FC 19 last April. All six of Drysdale’s wins have come by way of submission.

Oliveira last competed at UFC 142, a loss to Gabriel Gonzaga by rear-naked choke. The defeat was the first of his career, earning 13 wins, one draw and one no-contest prior to the loss.

UFC 163 takes place at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, and is headlined by a featherweight title fight between champion Jose Aldo and Anthony Pettis.

Olympic medalist Sara McMann and Alexis Davis are the two newest female faces in the UFC, a company official said on a conference call on Tuesday.

McMann and Davis are the fifth and sixth female fighters announced as added to the UFC roster following Ronda Rousey, Liz Carmouche, Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano.

McMann (6-0) made her name known by winning the silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games in freestyle wrestling. She transitioned to MMA in 2010 as an amateur, turning pro a year later.

McMann was most recently seen winning a unanimous decision over Shayna Baszler at Invicta FC 2 in July. The win kept her undefeated record intact, with other victories coming in the ProElite and Titan Fighting Championships promotions among others.

Davis (13-5) is a Canadian fighter with roots that extend from the Cesar Gracie Fight Team. She, like McMann, most recently defeated Baszler in her last outing, a rear-naked choke at Invicta FC 4 last month.

McMann’s addition to the UFC’s growing female roster means one-third of it has Olympic experience with Rousey having won bronze in 2008’s Beijing games.

The first women’s UFC fight will take place on Feb. 23 at UFC 157 in Anaheim, Calif. at the Honda Center when Rousey defends her title against Carmouche. The second women’s UFC bout will be at the Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale on April 13 when Tate battles Zingano.

No announcements were made regarding McMann’s and Davis’ first UFC fights.

The soap opera between Josh Barnett and the UFC appears to have come to an end.

The onetime heavyweight champion was rumored to have a return to the UFC after Strikeforce ceased to exist, but details in the negotiating room soured the courtship between the fighter and the organization.

Barnett’s representative, Leland LaBarre, said he refused the promotion’s final offer and chose to move on with his fighter. After saying he had spoken with other events, major ones or otherwise, Labarre put a closing stop to the story.

“There are some outlying issues—one in particular—that as of this point we were unable to agree on,” LeBarre told MMAFighting.com on Wednesday, without elaborating on what the point of contention is.

Barnett (32-6) has 20 career submission wins and once TKO’d Randy Couture in the second round to win the heavyweight title at UFC 36. However, a subsequent failed drugs test meant he lost his belt as quickly as he’d come by it.

LeBarre also did not share which other promotions he is negotiating with.
