Former UFC heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar was, once time, notified for failing another drug test. After failing in the exams out of the competition period, which were held on 28 June, this time the USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) notified American to have been caught in the test held on July 9, when faced Mark Hunt at UFC 200, in Las Vegas.

The UFC issued an official statement on its website talking about Lesnar anti-doping violation. According to the statement, Lesnar was spotted with the same substance as the first test. However, the substance has not been disclosed by the organization. Lesnar will be brought to trial by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NAC) at a date yet to be set.

Brock Lesnar returned to MMA after four years away. His return was against Mark Hunt at UFC 200. The former champion came out with the victory by unanimous decision.

THE FULL UFC STATEMENT ON BROCK LESNAR

“The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Brock Lesnar that his in-competition sample collection from July 9, 2016, at UFC 200, has tested positive for the same substance as his previously announced out-of-competition collection on June 28, 2016. 

“USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. The Nevada State Athletic Commission also retains jurisdiction over this matter as the sample collection was performed at UFC 200 in Las Vegas.

“Consistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.”

O UFC 200, programado para o dia 9 de julho, em Las Vegas, segue recheado de detalhes para apimentar o evento. Encabeçado pelo duelo entre Daniel Cormier e Jon Jones, pelo cinturão dos meio-pesados, o card terá na luta co-principal o retorno do ex-campeão peso pesado Brock Lesnar contra o nocauteador Mark Hunt.

No entanto, o retorno do gigante da WWE teve uma polêmica envolvida. Com poucos meses para se preparar, depois de assinar sua volta no UFC 200, Lesnar foi poupado dos quatro meses prévios para exames antidoping da USADA, e Mark Hunt não perdoou.

Entrevista para o “Fox Sports Australia”, o “Super Samoano” disparou: “Eu acho que ele está completamente bombado, mas vou nocautea-lo do mesmo jeito”, disse o pesado antes de completar: “Isso não é justo. Eu acho que ninguém deveria ser poupado dos exames. Eles querem limpar o esporte, e essa é uma maneira errada de fazê-lo. É ridículo”, disse.

In a fight that had heavy advertising tying in Cain Velasquez getting the chance to become the first Mexican UFC heavyweight champion, the current title holder took on then-champion Brock Lesnar at UFC 121 in Anaheim, Calif.

On a quest to find out which UFC fighter earned a $5 million payday, Jon Jones and Brock Lesnar were taken out the running.

In an interview yesterday with SciFighting.com, UFC President Dana White said that neither former heavyweight champ Lesnar and current light heavyweight champ Jones were the fighter that scored the $5 million paycheck for one fight.

It’s not as though the list of fighter who earned that much money is a long one, though. White has said in the past that he’s made millionaires out of about 30 fighters, so this only cuts the list down by two.

White did say, however, that the fighter that earned that glorious check is still an active UFC fighter. He wouldn’t say who the fighter is, of course, because “it’s just nobody’s business how much money they make.”

Shane Carwin, lutador americano de 38 anos anunciou a sua aposentadoria no MMA. O peso-pesado, que já foi campeão interino da categoria no UFC, não conseguiu dar adeus ao octógono como gostaria.

Uma série de lesões na coluna e joelho acabaram afastando o atleta, que conhecido pelas mãos pesadas venceu sete de suas 14 lutas por nocaute. Carwin só sofreu duas derrotas em sua carreira: ao perder o cinturão para Brock Lesnar, e a dura e sangrenta batalha contra Junior Cigano. Estes foram seus últimos combates.

Após meses se recuperando de uma cirurgia nas costas, o peso-pesado voltou ao UFC como um dos treinadores da 16^a edição do reality “The Ultimate Fighter”, liderando a equipe rival de Roy Nelson. Os dois se enfrentariam ao final da temporada, em dezembro de 2012, mas uma nova e séria lesão no joelho acabou tirando Carwin do card.

Nesta terça-feira, através do Twitter, Shane Carwin anunciou sua aposentadoria após quase dois anos sem atuar no Ultimate.

“Oficialmente aposentado hoje. Agradeço minha família, amigos e fãs. Sonhe alto e Deus abençoe”, disse o ex-campeão.

A novidade desta quarta-feira foi o casamento do combate entre o gigante brasileiro Antônio “Pezão” Silva e o monstro holandês Alistair Overeem. Guerra adiada

Os pesos pesados vão se enfrentar pelo UFC 156, dia 2 de fevereiro, em Las Vegas. As feras quase se enfrentaram pelo Strikeforce em 2011, quando seriam adversários nas semifinais do GP dos pesados ano passad. Mas, Overeem saiu do evento antes que o combate acontecesse.

No UFC, Pezão mostrou valentia logo na estreia, ao topar a luta contra Cain Velasquez, em maio deste ano. O paraibano tomou o nocaute, após tentar lutar com o sangue escorrendo pelos olhos. Em sua segunda luta, em outubro, veio a recuperação, ao bater o duro Travis Browne, havaiano que vinha de 12 vitórias consecutivas.

Já Overeem, ex-Pride, ex-K-1 e ex-Strikeforce, não sabe o que é perder há oito lutas. Ele volta após cumprir suspensão por doping. O último duelo do holandês no UFC foi também o primeiro: a vitória em cima do já aposentado Brock Lesnar, em dezembro de 2011.

O UFC 156 terá como luta principal os rápidos José Aldo vs Frankie Edgar.

The UFC isn’t playing around; it just keeps cranking out enticing cards for the coming year. The big news this Wednesday is the match-up between gigantic Brazilian Antônio “Bigfoot” Silva and monstrous Dutchman Alistair Overeem. And what GRACIEMAG.com wants to know is what your opinion on the battle is: can Bigfoot pull it off? Or is he still stuck with underdog status when matched with the former Strikeforce champion?

Battle postponed

The heavyweights will square off at UFC 156, on February 2, in Las Vegas. The two nearly faced each other once before, when their paths were crossed in the semifinals of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix of last year. Overeem exited the promotion before the fight could happen, though.

Once he’d made the move to the UFC, Bigfoot showed his valiance right off the bat, agreeing to take on Cain Velasquez in May of this year. After a gruesomely bloody and one-sided exchange, the Brazilian succumbed to the knockout. In his second fight, in October, however, he recovered his top-fighter standing by beating the game Travis Browne, a towering Hawaiian who was riding a 12-fight win streak at the time.

Now Overeem, formerly of Pride FC, K-1 and Strikeforce, hadn’t tasted defeat in eight fights. He will now be making his first appearance since receiving a one-year ban for the use of illicit substances. The Dutchman’s last fight in the UFC was also his first: a win over now-retired Brock Lesnar in December 2011.

UFC 156 will be headlined by José Aldo and Frankie Edgar.
