Ex-campeão dos pesos pesados, Junior Cigano está determinado a reconquistar o cinturão que já foi seu outrora. E para dar mais um passo rumo ao topo, o brasileiro terá um grande desafio no próximo sábado, dia 14 de julho, em Boise, nos EUA.

Cigano terá pela frente Blagoy Ivanov, na luta principal do card, mas o faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu exímio no boxe terá outra grande barreira a superar. Sem atuar no UFC desde maio de 2017, por conta de um alarme falso dado pela USADA no exame antidoping, Cigano terá contra Ivanov a chance de se recolocar no ritmo de luta para buscar o título.

Bagagem não falta ao brasileiro. Além do nocaute histórico sobre Cain Velasquez para conquistar o cinturão dos pesados, hoje na mão de Daniel Cormier, Cigano atropelou outros grandes nomes da divisão com sua direita poderosa, como é o caso dos ex-campeões Fabrício Werdum e Frank Mir, além de nomes lendários como Mirko Crocop e Mark Hunt.

Northwest Submission Classic in Boise, Idaho

The 2012 Northwest Submission Challenge is now open for registrations.

To be held in Boise, Idaho, on April 28th, it is the largest grappling tournament in the state.

With the support of the Idaho Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, it invites the top men, and women grapplers in the Northwest to show their skill and competitive drive. This is a family friendly event for competitors of all ages, skill levels, and discipline. This is an open tournament; you do not have to be affiliated with any style, academy or gym to enter.

There will be divisions in both Gi and Nogi for men, women, kids, teens, and an executive class for athletes over the age of 35.

The tournament will be under IBJJF rules with referees certified by the Idaho Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

We are proud to once again invite all men, women, teen, and child grapplers from the Northwest to show their skills at the 2010 Northwest Submission Challenge. Last year was an amazing success, with over 100 competitors with amazing skill on the mats, and due to popular demand we have added more divisions including extra teen and women divisions. Registration is now open with a free event t-shirt for registering before April 11th.  Our divisional prizes will be bigger and better than last year with prize packs for each winner including a 6-month subscription to GRACIEMAG for all absolute winners!
