No último sábado o faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu Wilson Reis esteve em ação no Bellator 37, em Oklahoma, e fez valer a experiência na luta de chão.

Contra Zac George, finalizou em apenas 2min9s de combate, com um mata-leão. Também foi bem Patrício Freire, o Pitbull. O brasileiro nocauteou Georgi Karakhanyan aos 26s do segundo assalto. Agora ambos seguem vivos no GP de penas da organização.

Last Saturday Jiu-Jitsu black belt Wilson Reis saw action at Bellator 37 in Oklahoma, and his grappling experience came in handy.

Reis put away Zac George at 2:09 min of combat using a rear-naked choke. The other Brazilian on the card, Patrício “Pitbull” Freire also had a good showing, knocking out Georgi Karakhanyan at 0.26 minutes into the second round. Now both are still afloat in the promotion’s featherweight GP.

For Jiu-Jitsu and MMA fans, Saturday night isn’t just about Shogun and Jon Jones. The 37th installment of Bellator FC will feature Wilson Reis (11w, 2l) against Zac George, and the winner remains in the running in the promotion’s featherweight tournament.

The fight, to be held in Concho, Oklahoma, will be broadcast starting 7 pm local time on MTV2, a channel that has entered a partnership with Bellator to broadcast events.

Besides the broadcast to MTV’s young viewership, another interesting hand Bellator is playing is hiring sambo ace Blagoy Ivanov, the Bulgarian who beat Fedor Emelianenko in the style in Russia.

Undefeated in MMA with three wins (one by submission), Ivanov has however been submitted by Jiu-Jitsu’s own Alexandre Souza, at the 2010 World Pro, in Abu Dhabi.

A luta, realizada em Concho, no estado de Oklahoma, será exibida a partir de 19h (horário local) pela MTV americana (MTV2), canal que recentemente virou parceiro do Bellator.

Além da transmissão para o público jovem da MTV, outra cartada interessante do Bellator foi a contratação do craque do sambo Blagoy Ivanov, búlgaro que já derrotou Fedor Emelianenko nos tapetes russos.

Invicto no MMA com três vitórias, uma por finalização, Ivanov porém já foi finalizado pelo nosso Alexandre Souza em Abu Dhabi, no World Pro de Jiu-Jitsu 2010.
