The trio, brown belt Sarah Black, brown belt Jonathan Van Buren and blue belt Nigel Kurtz, put together a smooth piece of film featuring 30 combinations of Jiu-Jitsu techniques in just five minutes.

The combinations feature takedowns, self-defense techniques, sweeps, back-takes, chokes, locks, reversals and more. See if you can spot the moves and count just how many are used.

By feeding the lapel through your leg and your opponent’s, it offers a firm way to slow down your opponent and create opportunities to sweep.

Many people have been playing around with the position but one brown belt under Rubens Cobrinha Charles has worked on a counter.

Here, Isaac Doederlein explains a way to not only combat the tie-up but he also shows how you can take the back from there. Check it out and let us know if this seems like something you would use:

Should he run outside of the mat which is only inches away? Should he try to quickly turn into his opponent? Maybe if he avoids the seatbelt grip he can still work a traditional back escape. Or is he doomed?

One man, one backflip. Check out this very interesting and successful way that one blue belt was able to use to prevent having his back taken. We don’t recommend you try this, at all:
