On Mar. 4 the City of Esch-sur-Alzette, the hometown of GMA Cavalcanti Jiu Jitsu Luxembourg, organized the annual “Merit of Sports” Award Ceremony.

Cavalcanti Jiu Jitsu Luxembourg competitors Raphael Geib and Jing Zhu had the “Merit of Sports Award” handed out by the Mayor, in presence of some members of the city council. In the crowded City Theater of Esch-sur-Alzette, the competitors received the award for their great results at the 2013 NAGA Europe Championship.

Jing Zhu earned bronze in both gi and no-gi. Raphael Geib earned silver in gi.

The city of Long Beach, California, will host an event with a unique and grandiose purpose on the 12th of May.

The very first worldwide fair exclusively for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo I, will be overseen by Renzo Gracie, a renowned teacher and former UFC fighter.

“This event on the 12th of May will gather all the people and things connected to Jiu-Jitsu under one roof,” stated Renzo.

“I believe this inaugural event will be the start of something that will quickly blossom into one of the hottest sports fairs on the planet. The World Jiu-Jitsu Expo won’t just draw the sport’s big  names from the past and present, it’ll showcase the history, the myths and milestones that brought Jiu-Jitsu to become the phenomenon it is today,” added the Gracie.

PREMIERE OF JIU-JITSU “OSCARS”

The location will be the Long Beach Convention Center, and in the 8,000 square meters reserved for the fair, there will be such attractions as a series of free seminars conducted by ADCC superchamp Bráulio Estima, as well as the inaugural BJJ Awards, the Jiu-Jitsu Oscars, the BJJ Hall of Fame, classic-photo exhibitions, MMA and UFC aces attention and, of course, plenty of Jiu-Jitsu matches.

A cidade de Long Beach, na Califórnia, será a sede de um evento nascido com uma proposta única e grandiosa, no próximo dia 12 de maio.

Primeira feira mundial voltada exclusivamente para o Jiu-Jitsu brasileiro, a 1ª World Jiu-Jitsu Expo será presidida por Renzo Gracie, renomado professor e ex-lutador do UFC.

“Este evento em 12 de maio vai abrigar sob o mesmo teto todas as pessoas e coisas conectadas com o Jiu-Jitsu”, declarou Renzo.

“Acredito que este evento inaugural será o início de algo que rapidamente se tornará uma das mais destacadas feiras esportivas do planeta. O local será o Long Beach Convention Center, e nos mais de 8 mil metros quadrados reservados para a feira, haverá atrações como uma série de seminários de graça, ministrados pelo supercampeão do ADCC Bráulio Estima, além dos primeiros BJJ Awards, o Oscar do Jiu-Jitsu, o BJJ Hall of Fame, exposições de fotos clássicas, presença de craques do MMA e do UFC e, claro, muitas lutas de Jiu-Jitsu.
