Em ação na Flórida, neste sábado, dois representantes da arte suave saíram vencedores. Defendendo o cinturão de pesados do Art of Fighting, o bicampeão mundial absoluto Marcio Pé de Pano derrotou com facilidade Dave Yost, com uma finalização. Quem também usou o Jiu-Jitsu para definir foi o faixa-preta Arthur Gogó, que conta ao GRACIEMAG.com como foi o evento.

“O Pé de Pano aplicou alguns socos e quedou. O cara acabou dando as costas e ele finalizou com um mata-leão, bem rápido”, conta Gogó.

Chamado para o combate há três dias do evento, o carioca não sentiu o gás e também finalizou.

“Meu adversário, CT Turner é boxeador profissional e tinha um wrestling muito bom. Sabia que ele me derrubaria e a estratégia era exatamente essa. No primeiro round, caí por baixo e raspei. Fiquei por cima batendo. No segundo assalto, deixei ele me derrubar novamente, mas fui para o leglock, de onde finalizei. O dono do evento gostou muito, ainda mais por ter aceitado lutar em cima da hora. Luto lá novamente no dia 22 de maio”, encerra Gogó.

Arthur Gogo, a fighter who has been excelling in Brazilian domestic MMA with wins over beasts of the caliber of Rousimar Toquinho, will see action in the U.S. this Saturday. The Jiu-Jitsu black belt will fight on the same card as fellow Gracie Fusion member and absolute world champion Marcio Pé de Pano, who will defend his heavyweight belt in the Art of Fighting 7 event, in Florida.

Gogo is coming off a win at Brazil Fight, on March 13. The fighter was called up on short notice and agreed to the challenge.

“I returned to training on Monday and they asked whether I wanted to fight. It’s my return to international MMA. Pe de Pano is working hard at his academy here in Florida, and we’ll be there together. I will face the CT Turner, who comes from a muay thai background,” he says.

Pe de Pano will have Dave Yost ahead of him.

Lutador que vem se destacando no MMA nacional, Arthur Gogó, que tem no currículo vitórias sobre feras como Rousimar Toquinho, entra em ação nos EUA, neste sábado. O faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu estará ao lado do companheiro da Gracie Fusion e bicampeão mundial absoluto Marcio Pé de Pano, que defenderá o cinturão de pesados no evento Art of Fighting 7, na Flórida. 

Gogó vem de recente triunfo no Brazil Fight, no dia 13 de março. O lutador foi chamado em cima da hora e topou o desafio. 

“Voltei aos treinamentos na segunda-feira e perguntaram se eu queria lutar. É a minha volta ao MMA internacional. O Pé de Pano está trabalhando duro na academia dele, lá na Flórida, e estaremos juntos. Vou enfrentar o CT Turner, que é um cara do muay thai”, conta. 

Pé de Pano terá Dave Yost pela frente.

Pé seems to be boosting his work rate in his career, now with four consecutive wins in MMA. His only two losses came in the UFC, to Andrei Arlovski and Jeff Monson, in the heavyweight division.

In his last fight, the absolute world champion of Jiu-Jitsu (2002/03) dispatched Tom Sauer with strikes on the ground in the second round, a specialty he demonstrated in his win over Frank Mir at UFC 57 in 2006.

Pé recently won the European Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2009, the only title he was missing, but lost at the ADCC Barcelona last year.
