Ronys Torres tirou a urucubaca e deixou para trás a pior fase da carreira, em que, além de ficar fora do UFC, sofreu três derrotas seguidas. E o lutador ainda tinha um motivo especial para vencer: com a bolsa pelo triunfo, vai poder ajudar nos custos do tratamento de saúde da mãe, que tem risco de perder a visão. 

A luta foi neste sábado, no Amazon Show Combat, evento realizado na sua cidade natal, Manacapuru, no Amazonas. Contra Anderson Smith, o faixa-preta finalizou. 

“O Ronys trocou um pouco em pé e depois colocou para baixo. Passou a guarda, montou, bateu e foi para o armlock, tendo finalizado ainda no primeiro round”, informa o preparador do lutador, Allan Mídia, ao colaborador Arthur Castro. 

Abrilhantou ainda mais a noite o ato do adversário de Ronys. Anderson Smith doou parte de sua bolsa para ajudar no tratamento da mãe do oponente. 

Também da Nova União, o lutador Dileno Lopes venceu por finalização (guilhotina) Samuel Xavier no assalto inicial.

Ronys Torres got the monkey off his back and broke him the string of poor results that pulled him from the UFC. And the fighter had special reason to win: the purse from his triumph will help pay the cost of treating his mother, who runs the risk of losing her eyesight.

The fight took place at Amazon Show Combat this Saturday in the fighter’s birthplace of Manacapuru, in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. The black belt overcame Anderson Smith via submission.

“Ronys traded strikes some on the feet and then took it to the ground. He passed guard, mounted, threw punches and ended it with an armbar, finishing it in the first round,” reported the fighters trainer to GRACIEMAG.com collaborator Arthur Castro.

And an act of goodwill on the part of Ronys’s opponent added further sheen to the night. Anderson Smith donated part of his purse to help in his opponent’s mother’s treatment.

Also from team Nova União, Dileno Lopes won his bout with Samuel Xavier via guillotine choke in the first round.
