However, the other belt groups already have their winners, some of whom GRACIEMAG.com pointed out as being likely to succeed in 2010.

Brown is the last belt before black. Among those who may make life hard on the Gentle Art’s biggest stars in the near future, Lucas Rocha (Gracie Barra) carries on doing his homework. The fighter beat all opposition at middleweight. Other brown belt standouts are Marcus Almeida “Bochecha” (CheckMat), at superheavyweight; Ian McPherson (Alliance), middleweight; Zak Maxwell (Gracie Humaitá), lightweight; and the youngest of the Langhi family, Michel (Alliance), winner at light featherweight.

At purple belt, the big name was Alec Baulding (Alliance), winner of the middleweight and absolute divisions. Another to stand out is João Gabriel (Soul Fighters), winner at medium heavyweight. Among the girls, Renzo Gracie’s dangerous student Kay Stephenson took both the medium heavyweight and absolute.

At blue belt, after winning the World Pro qualifiers in Rio, Mateus Luckmann (Alliance) took featherweight gold at the Pan. He heads to Abu Dhabi riding a wave of success. The Lloyd Irvin athletes also showed their mettle. Willie Leonard first won the ultra heavyweight, before closing out the absolute division with teammate Jackson De Alonzo. Also from Lloyd Irvin, Tracy Godell won at weight and the absolute in the female category.

And not to leave out the juvenile division, Christian Broadnax (Nova União) was top among medium heavyweights and the absolute.

Entretanto, nas demais graduações, muitas outras feras já garantiram o ouro, algumas já apontadas pelo GRACIEMAG.com como favoritas ao sucesso em 2010.

A marrom é a última faixa antes da preta. Entre os que podem, num futuro próximo, atrapalhar a vida dos maiores astros da arte suave, Lucas Rocha (Gracie Barra) segue fazendo o dever de casa. O lutador derrotou a todos no médio. A graduação ainda contou com outros campeões que prometem, que já vinham se destacando. Entre eles Marcus Almeida “Bochecha” (CheckMat), no superpesado; Iam McPherson (Alliance), no médio; Zak Maxwell (Gracie Humaitá), no leve; e o mais jovem da família Langhi, Michel (Alliance), campeão no peso pena.

Na faixa-roxa, o grande nome foi Alec Baulding (Alliance), campeão no peso médio e no absoluto. Quem também vem se destacando é João Gabriel (Soul Fighters), vencedor no meio-pesado. Entre as meninas, a perigosa aluna de Renzo Gracie Kay Stephenson foi a melhor no meio pesado e absoluto.

Na faixa azul, depois de vencer a seletiva do Rio para o World Pro, Mateus Luckmann (Alliance) faturou o ouro entre os penas no Pan. Vai para Abu Dhabi com moral. Bom trabalho também fizeram os atletas da Lloyd Irvin. Pelo time, Willie Leonard primeiro venceu no pesadíssimo para depois fechar o absoluto com companheiro Jackson De Alonzo. Ainda pela Lloyd Irvin, Tracy Godell faturou peso e absoluto no feminino.

E, para não deixar o juvenil azul de fora, Christian Broadnax (Nova União) foi o melhor entre os meio pesados e no absoluto.
