Researchersfrom Florida State University published the discovery that watermelon is a powerful weapon combating heard disease.

A popular item in the Gracie Diet, watermelon was already known for being a low-calorie food rick in fiber and nutrients. Now, science has finally proven the fruit helps to reduce blood pressure, thanks to an amino acid that causes blood vessels to dilate and prevents the progression of pre-hypertension and hypertension, a heart attack risk factor.

The study was performed over six weeks with nine patients with cardiac problems. All nine saw improvement in their condition after eating a wedge of watermelon for breakfast. There were no side effects.
