In the under-88 kg final of the first ever IBJJ Pro League event, favorites Rômulo Barral of Gracie Barra and André Galvão of Atos Jiu-Jitsu went all out in trying to get their hands on the $5,000 bounty.
To make it to their showdown: Romulo dished out a 21-0 drubbing on Raul Castillo. Against his teammate Otavio Sousa in the semifinals, the Gracie Barra ace won with a tight armbar. Now, André Galvão made it past Diego Herzog by a score of 7 to 0 and tapped out Rafael “Formiga” Barbosa with a rear-naked choke.
