From your first Jiu-Jitsu class on, you have to keep calm, concentrated, confident and be able to recover. The black belt Luiza Monteiro demonstrated all that, and importantly self-control, in the lightweight final at the Rio Open last Saturday. At the competition in the Tijuca Tennis Club, the PSLPB Cicero Costha rep freed herself of a figure-four footlock before taking GFTeam’s Nádia Melo’s back and finishing with a collar choke.
