Want to compete in the preliminaries before Roger, Mendes & Co.? Your chance ends the 25th

The IBJJF released the pattern for the event's official T-shirt, to be handed out to all competitors.

The Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in Long Beach, California, is your chance at getting to warm the mats up for Roger Gracie, Rodolfo Vieira, Rômulo Barral, Rafael Mendes and so many others. But sign-ups only go until the coming 25th, so you’d best keep on your toes.

“I remember how in 2006 I was a blue belt and got to watch Cobrinha compete at black belt, and I knew I’d get to face him in a few years. I just didn’t think it would be this quick,” says Rafael Mendes. “In 2006 I won the Worlds as a blue belt and he as a black belt; in 2008 I got my brown belt and was promoted to black at the end of the year. The lesson I learnt is that we have to tune in to the kids coming up in the other belts, because in time they’ll be our opponents…”
