GRACIEMAG’s beloved columnist Martin Rooney has another piece on shelves at bookstores, alongside his other books on physical conditioning for fighters, Train to Win, Training for Warriors: The Team Renzo Gracie Workout, Training for Warriors: The Ultimate Mixed Martial Arts Workout.
The new book, set for release in the USA on May 1st, is called “Ultimate Warrior Workouts: Fitness Secrets of the Martial Arts”, and is the fruit of three years of travel and adventure in the life of Martin Rooney.

“I’m really excited about the new book. There are 384 pages and more than 1,500 color photos with loads of secrets for readers,” Martin tells GRACIEMAG.com. “In putting together the book, I traveled to various different countries to train in the martial arts that make up MMA. And I took part in the physical conditioning preparations for each art, too. I went to Brazil and trained Jiu-Jitsu at Gracie Barra, trained judo and karate in Japan (at Kodokan and the Japanese Karate Association), muay thai in Thailand (Fairtex BangPhli), sambo in Russia, kickboxing in Holland (Mejiro Gym), boxing in England and wrestling at the University of Iowa, here in the USA. I spent months abroad training and gathering information.”
Beyond the training and secrets of each martial art, Martin describes how each fighting style is performed, the philosophy behind each style and presents a variety of different teachings from the grandmasters of each martial art. The book moreover offers readers a six-month exercise program and a dietary plan.
