After taking the Rio Open championship as a brown belt, Ceara native Guybson Sá earned his black belt and took off for adventures in the rings and dojos of the United States. Son of revered Master Sá, Guybson has been teaching class in Syracuse, New York, alongside GMA Hermes Franca, at East West Combat Club.
In the Land of Uncle Sam he has been giving his adversaries a hard time. “I was in three important competitions in November. In MMA, I fought Dave Collabela at Blood Brothers 2. Now on the mat I did Long Island Pride BJJ and submitted two champions, Abmar Barbosa and Leonardo ‘Tunico’ Leite, but lost in the final to Lucas Lepri. I also fought at the No-Gi Worlds, but ended up losing to Antonio Braga Neto,” he says, already with another target in his sights.
“I’m really happy with the results and training hard for the European Jiu-Jitsu Championship, at the end of February, in Portugal,” he says in finishing.
