The wife of Professor João Crus was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer and will soon undergo surgery. At this trying time, Cruz did what all fighters learn to do over the years of Jiu-Jitsu: he pulled up his sleeves and went to battle, seeking the strength and especially the resources to make everything turn out alright.
“I received a number of invitations to teach seminars at the academies of my friends, so as to raise the money needed for her treatment,” recounts João.

The teachers also released a new DVD to help raise funds. It’s called “Omoplata Game”, and is a four-DVD set teaching the tricks to the omoplata from the closed and open guard, omoplata sweeps, escapes, and finishes.
