The sitting featherweight BJJ world champion, Shane Jamil Hill-Taylor, is out of the 2019 IBJJF World Championship, which will take place from May 30 through June 2 in Long Beach, Calif.

Jamil was taken to the hospital to undergo an emergency operation due to appendicitis. The info comes from Flograppling.com.

In his absence, fighters like Leonardo “Cascão,” Kennedy Maciel, Gianni Grippo, Marcio Andre and young Matheus Gabriel become heavy favorites in the running for the featherweight title.
