Rolles and Daniel Gracie, instructors at GMA Renzo Gracie Academy, traveled to Tokyo, Japan last weekend for the January 4 Tokyo Dome Show to try their hand at tag team professional wrestling event. What made it interesting was their opponent, Kazushi “The Gracie Hunter” Sakuraba.
The martial arts background of Sakuraba came from professional wrestling before he entered the realm of MMA where he defeated four Gracie family members, earning him his nickname.
On January 4, the annual event brought together Sakuraba and the Gracies once more. The match-up ended in a DQ but only because of a gi choke by Daniel Gracie– a finish that would normally be celebrated.
Either way, it’s an interesting twist for the Gracie/Sakuraba story. Check it out at 7:30 into the video:
I've been researching catch wrestling a lot latelly and the Gracies are basically the best modern catch wrestlers in a way and definitely the best ground grapplers without having the pin as a rule, so seeing them have some fun with it and not take themselfs TO serious is cool to watch, I'm a diehard BJJ fan but am hopeing to learn from the oldschool catch also
I love Rickson And all the gracias but Sakuraba is the best pure catch wrestler that ever lived.. KRON is the future..
rolles is the nicest guy ever
are you kiding me??
I've watched Sakuraba in Pride and he was top class fighter for non-American and Brazilian arts of fighting!!! It or the kind of catch wrestling sounds like a perfect match for the both to gain face on there fighting styles!!??
disgrace to de gracies
i didn;t know the gracies were in to WWE shit…..that is fake as it get ..
Ridiculous and stupid…love Sakuraba though
