Another member of the Gracie lineage will wear gloves and venture into the great market of MMA . Kron Gracie used the social networks to tell the world of his transition.

His father, Rickson Gracie, had already said that Kron would already be working in the cages of the world in 2013 or 2014, the latest .

Kron , who is 25, wrote on Instagram:

“I will not fight at the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo because my opponent Rodolfo Vieira is injured. So, I’ll take a break from Jiu-Jitsu championships to devote all my energy in MMA.”

Kron also said he was eager to get to this stage of his career and thanked those who are helping him in this new journey :

“I waited a lifetime for this transition. Can not wait to test myself at the highest level. Special thanks to brothers Nick and Nate Diaz, Jake Shields, Gilbert Melendez, Rickson Gracie and Jean Jacques Machado.”

The only one left to possibly carry the torch. But, I think Rickson's prodigy will be different. Aggressive for submissions and in a good weight class at 155…

I'm curious to see how he'll do. He's in California and WILL have access to high level wrestling coaches. He gets that wrestling weight up like a Rafael dos Anjos has done and with some decent striking, he can do well in MMA. Get it, Ice Cream Man! Oss!

Yes, he will have access to some high level wrestling coaches in California (even though the Mid West has more and probably better). But the question is, will he take advantage of this? Roger Gracie trains at Black House in Gardena, Calif., which does have good wrestling coaching and damn his wrestling sucks.

Howard Liu Kron's wrestling doesn't look good at all in pure grappling; but, with the rules of the IBJJF and ADCC – where you can "do a lot of bad wrestling" for 10+ minutes until a mistake is made or a guy takes -1 – Kron can/could get away with it.

His specialized skillset is SO overwhelming though, at the infant stage, he'll be able to get away with rudimentary striking and the ole' school Gracie body lock style takedowns that worked for Royce. Kron is going to HAVE to get real wrestling like Rafael dos Anjos did.

I think Kron can be better than Roger in MMA. Kron is a natural, better athlete than Roger and he got a mean streak. Time will tell; but, if he wants to really be a long-term MMA fighter and not just moonlight, he has to do those things. Time will tell; I hope he does well.
