Just to note, excluding the Northern lands occupied by Russia, the common Northern extreme is Cape Soya, not Sapporo.

The southern extreme can vary depending on definition but is definitely not Fukuoka but in Okinawa (Hateruma). If limited to Kyushu then likely Cape Sata.

Just a detail. It's not a major pt.

200kg of rice is maybe around 40,000 yen = around $400, 80 cases of water, maybe $100? or cheaper. Food and water didn't seem to be a priority in most of Tohoku since quite some time but perhaps there are a few little exceptions. Looking forward to coverage of the current situation in damaged areas and how the money is actually spent.

I also raised money modestly for Tohoku during the year of the earthquake but it was not an easy task as they didn't need a lot of the help and you had to pinpoint real needs while the main issue was more about them rising up to help themselves than getting food or water.
