Rickson Gracie used to say that Jiu-Jitsu is a vast ocean, so you’d better try and be a shark, even against opponents who hardly know how to swim. Or something like that.
So the actor Jeremy Jackson, once on the hit TV show “Baywatch,” took up the challenge of diving into this ocean by signing up for the 5th installment of the April 28-29 Claudio França-promoted American Cup in San Jose, California, and he got two cronies to join him, with no gentle art experience and just 90 days to prepare.

Haha! I wouldn’t exactly call them cronies… Blake Mallen put on 23lbs of lean muscle prior to taking on the Jiu Jitsu Challenge.
It’s definitely gonna be tough to go from no experience and only 90 days to prepare, but that’s what challenges are all about right? 🙂
90 days to compete as white belts isn’t that hard. I did my first tournament after just 2 months of training won 3 matches 2 by submission and placed third.
I hope these guys lose first fight. Boo Hobie
