Very first three-time world champion roosterweight Bruno Malfacine, also known as Bad Boy, works hard on the technical part of his game. However, to put his positions into practice and deal with the frenetic pace in competition, he also needs to keep his physical conditioning up to speed.

Malfacine takes care of that with physical conditioning coach Edson Ramalho, who has now entered a partnership with Alliance. One possibility in his future is making the move up to light featherweight, so his muscles need to be in prime shape.

“Will I move up to light featherweight? I’m thinking about it. It’ll be a surprise,” he says, skirting the issue.

The fighter won’t see action at the Rio Open to take a break. He should be back in action at the National Cup in São Paulo, and then fly out to hold seminars in Europe. The Brazilian Nationals and Worlds are on his itinerary.

In the meantime, check out some of the champ’s physical conditioning work.
