Saturday, October 25, 2008 - Irvine Valley College, Orange County, CA Justin McDaniel (right) faces Elias Ramirez to conquer blue belt open class above medium division. Purple Belt Open class finished in a nice fashion with this Rafael "Tinoco" Novaes' wicked triangle...  ...Whilst white belts disputing the gold in open class above medium didn't get much behind, taking this tight armbar in comparison.  Medal Podium for blue belt open class up to medium category. Over 300 competitors performed good technique for a crowdy audience at Irvine College this Saturday. Look how high was this sick takedown shown by Felipe Guedes...  ... and measure the pressure of this choke well applied by Ronis Gracie. Gracie Magazine Association, of course, was there as always, close to the mats. Photographer Mike Pesh was rushing as crazy working, competing and also babysitting.  Some athletes are not very tense prior to their matches... Others, however, take a loss as a very hard blow. Relatives were there to register a girl winning among boys. Despite his loss, look how happy Rulivan Gracie was after his first tournament. The usual merchants selling or advertising their products and brands... And babies getting used to an environment they probably will attend a lot. Time to leave... ... and to gather the staff who put it all together for the final photo.
