At the end of 2006, after 14 years fighting MMA, a legend of the sport decided to take a decision: to abandon his career. At 42, Ken Shamrock is coming off four consecutive losses in the UFC, all by knockout. One year and three months was the time the “Most dangerous man in the world,” as he was known during the peak of his career, managed to spend away from the ring.
Today Elite XC announced Ken was signed to a contract and will debut in the organization’s event to take place in England on March 8th. Although it was made official today, contracting of the 43 year old was not a surprise, as for months, the fighter had affirmed he wanted to return to fighting, with one of the possible fights being against his adoptive brother, Frank Shamrock, in a bout scheduled for December of this year. The news comes in the acquisition of his son, Ryan Shamrock, 19, who already has a professional MMA fight on his record, having won by guillotine in the first round.
