On April 21, 2007, a Brazilian shocked the fight world, brutally knocking out one of the sport’s best strikers, who went to the United States for the sole purpose of winning the UFC belt. Jiu-Jitsu world champion Gabriel Gonzaga, known as Napao, had already won three fights for the American organization, but the high kick to Mirko Cro Cop’s head was what really spurred him to fame. But the fighter’s promising path to the belt was interrupted in the fight he lost to Randy Couture.
