With the recent achievement of placing top 3 at the Mexican National Championship, Rodrigo Comprido is positive about the future for Team Brasa in the second most populous country of North America. Proud of the team he and Felipe Costa oversee in five Mexican cities, the two-time absolute world champion contacted GRACIEMAG.com to praise the efforts of this team that has, over a span of two years, blossomed from being a single academy in Hermosillo, run by Eduardo Salazar and Alberto Acosta, to a five-academy team with locations in Mexico City, Leon, Los Cabos and Merida, and won medals in all categories at the country’s most expressive competition, November 8th.
“The Mexican Nationals Tournament was a success, with more than 250 competitors from all the country there, and of course Brasa Mexico was not the exception,” gushed the master with world-class credentials. “With leadership from the instructors and heads of the team in Mexico, Eduardo, Betao, and Tomás, the team did a great job, demonstrating great Jiu-Jitsu and getting medals in every category. In the end we took third place in the team dispute, just a few points behind the locals Royce Gracie Mexico and Renzo Gracie Mexico,” he said, exalting the accomplishments his teammates achieved in only two years of activity in the southernmost North American nation.
