Normally UFC fighters don’t tend to fight too many times a year. Intervals of over three months are common between bouts. That is not the case with Brazilian Wilson Gouveia. Coming off a win over Ryan Jensen at UFC 15, in September, the American Top Team representative has already been called up again, this time to face Jason MacDonald during the show to headline the final chapter of the The Ultimate Fighter reality show.
The fight is set for December 13th and will be broadcast on cable television in the United States over Spike TV channel. This will be Gouveia’s second appearance in his new category, as he used to fight at a light heavyweight. “I like the new category. I felt much bigger than the other guys. I made this move because I never was a very big light heavyweight, so we decided as a team I should drop to middleweight. Yes, I’m doing quite well. Making weight the first time was pretty rough, but now everything is fine, I’ve adapted,” he said to Portal das Lutas after his win over Jensen two months ago.
