The year isn’t over for Jiu-Jitsu

CBJJ prepares 3 more big tourneys till the end of 2008

Those who already miss big-time competition Jiu-Jitsu after the conclusion of the No-Gi Pan-Americans last week in New York need not worry. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Confederation will host, this year, at least three other major competitions. The first one will take place on October 18-19, the North-Brazilian Championship.

This tournament will be held in the city of Manaus, capital of the state of Amazonas. Land responsible for the birth of many of the greatest Jiu-Jitsu fighters of all time, namely Xande and Saulo Ribeiro, Ronaldo Jacare, Bibiano Fernandes and others, the city opens the gates of the Ninimbergue Guerra gymnasium for those who wish to prove they’re among Brazil’s finest.

At the beginning of November, it’s time for the South-American Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Registration will be open from the 29th until the 31st of October. The fighting areas will be assembled at Centro Multiuso, located on Beira Mar Avenue, in Sao Jose, Grande Florianopolis, in the state of Santa Catarina.

Also in November, on the 15th and 16th, Jiu-Jitsu returns to Rio de Janeiro. This time it’s the Brazilian Teams Championship (16th), and the Brazilian Rookie Championship (15th). The stage will be the traditional gymnasium of the Tijuca Tenis Clube, in Rio de Janeiro. The dates for signing up have not yet been revealed by the Confederation.
