An official announcement by the UFC has not yet been made, but American sites are already saying a confrontation between black belt Roan Jucao and Ryo Chonan is a done deal for UFC 88, an event set for September 6, in Atlanta. If confirmed, the bout will give the Brazilian the chance for revenge for the loss suffered nearly two and a half years ago, when in December of 2005 he dropped a technical knockout (cut) loss to the Japanese at Deep 18.
Now an American Top Team representative, Jucao will be trying to recover from defeat suffered at the hands of Kevin Burns at UFC 85, in June. Now Chonan too will be coming from a loss. In his only appearance in the UFC till now, the Japanese fighter ended up being overcome by Karo Parisyian, in November of last year, at UFC 78.
