To Braulio "Carcara" Estima competition in the gi is over for 2008, but that doesn't mean the rest of the Ze Radiola black belt's year will not be exciting. Carcara overcame serious injury to his knee to guarantee his last-minute participation in the Jiu-Jitsu Worlds this year and, even so, took home a silver medal. Now, the Gracie Barra Birmingham, England instructor has his eye on the most important competitions without the gi on the IBJJF calendar, besides wanting to make his MMA debut. But all this will only happen after the 12th of July, when he will marry.
"After the wedding, I will be focused on the no-gi modality. Unfortunately, I will not be able to be ready for the Worlds in August, since, this time, I want to do everything right, so the next competition for me will be at the Pan-American, in New York, in October.Of course if some tournament takes place that I think will be beneficial for my preparations, I'll participate. After the Pan I'll study some MMA proposals, and then, of course, there's the ADCC next year," said Carcara.
