Wednsday afternoon Giand Sport Entertainment, organizer of FURY FC, held a press conference to talk about its next event - FURY FC 6, set for July 12 in the city of Teresopolis, in the mountain region of Rio de Janeiro.
The press conference took place in the Sheraton Barra Hotel, in Rio de Janeiro, has as its main theme the partnership with DREAM, the big name in Japanese MMA, and the introduction of the lighweight belt, which will be disputed by Rafael dos Anjos (Gracie Fusion) and Otsuka Takafumi (AACC Japan). Fabricio Monteiro (Gordo JJ), who will face Yoshitomo Watanabe (AACC Japan) in another superfight, was there, as well as Dos Anjos himself.
On FURY FC 6, Monteiro showed his hopes for the event are the best possible. "I thank very much Giant for appreciating my work and I'm very happy to be able to fight in Teresopolis, my city of birth, where the people support my career and value the sport, contributing a great deal to this FURY FC's becoming ever better," he declared.
When asked about the bout with Takafumi, who also holds two wins in previous FURY event (over Leandro Issa at FURY FC 3 and another over Rodrigo Ruiz at FURY FC 5), Rafael dos Anjos said he is anxious, but believes he will come out the winner. "God willing, I'm taking the belt with me," he finished.
On July 12, FURY FC 6 will show whether the support of Fabricio Monteiro's fans will help him win and if Rafael dos Anjos will take home the belt.
